Hi All,

Please help, as the title says What "NET Framework 2.0 Web Applications" courses should I do???

My company is willing to send me on training to help me with ASP.net (VB), but I don't know what courses to go on.

Here are a list of the courses:

Exam 70–536
2956: Core Foundations of Microsoft .NET 2.0 Development
2957: Advanced Foundations of Microsoft .NET 2.0 Development

Exam 70–528
Workshop 2543: Core Web Application Technologies with Microsoft Visual Studio 2005
Workshop 2544: Advanced Web Application Technologies with Microsoft Visual Studio 2005
Workshop 2541: Core Data Access with Microsoft Visual Studio 2005

I have an understanding of ASP and VB, but I want to sharper my skills.

Thanks in advance for all your input.

Not familiar with these specific courses but from my other experiences the if you have an understanding the beginners courses are always a waste of time.

Do the advanced stuff.

Will do. But I would like to know about these courses first.
Have you done any .Net courses?

why not 3.x ?

afaik you should do MCTS first then MCPD; add desktop to that and you can end off with architect.

this is obviously if you want to do a MCPD trek and not just some of the MCTS exams.

We currently use Visual Studio 2005 and most of the course for it use .net 2.0.

well vs 2008 is around the courner, then we are at 4.x; good thing is you can always "upgrade" from 2.x to 3.x/4.x

anyways MCPD: Web Developer, Visual Studio 2005 is what you wanted ? then maybe you should look at that trek...

Thanks Necuno, my company said I can either use IT Intellect or T.G.I.T.

Let me look for MCPD

i would rather chew glass than use linq.
LINQ has it's place. That place is obviously not in your toolbox though... ;)

That said, I haven't found a place for it yet either - but I haven't spent much time using .Net 3.x.

I'm thinking of doing:

Exam 70–528
Workshop 2543: Core Web Application Technologies with Microsoft Visual Studio 2005
Workshop 2544: Advanced Web Application Technologies with Microsoft Visual Studio 2005

Ah ok.. fair enough no idea then go the web route then:) What co if i may ask,, you can pm me the name , im curious to see if i know them
