What router is the best?

Hi

I am looking at buying a router. I was looking at the Belkin N600 but on reading the article on MyBroadband decided that is overpriced.

So what are my alternatives as i have no idea.

Tend to stick to Netgear myself, have only had good experiences with them, currently on a DGN2200.
Netgears appear to be less finicky about holding a connection, had a case where a Telkom Duo was dropping the connection once a week, replaced with a Netgear and the problem disappeared.
 
DeWalt make very good routers. I have a a Triton one because the workbenches are already profiled to allow it to be used in a number of ways. But I suppose most brands will do the job at the price point that is right for you.
 
How about TP link routers from uniterm direct?

Also, are you looking for a router, or an ADSL modem and router?

I have a Bosch Router, very happy with it.
 
I am not sure, i just activated my telkom voice line now looking at what ISP i am going to use and need a router.
My adsl line is not active yet.
Im thinking of going with afrihost.
The telkom technician said i will need to pug something in before the router but not sure what he was on about. This is my first adsl connection.

Then AFAIK you need an ADSL modem and a router. The thing you have to plug in is a pots filter I think.
 
Ah see now I thought you meant router in general - not DSL router. I was gonna say Cisco ASR 9K :P

yes, I also think he is referring to a POTS filter or an ADSL line splitter. This should come in the box if you buy a decent modem/router.

Please be sure to buy a Modem/Router, if it is only a router, you will not be able to do anything with it.

Knowing what i know now owning one , I would have easily paid up to R3500 for it.
Face it , a router is something that you use everyday . Sometimes its worth paying a premium for quality.
