What was your first car?

My first car!

1965 Cortina GT a white one, bought it in 1966. It was my pride & joy at the age of 19!!!
 
1.5l Honda Ballade (1993) - My dad bought it for me in matric (1997) for +-40k

Opel Kadett 1991 if I remember correctly, rode like a dream, only afterward worked out how good the petrol consumption was on this car.
 
A 1980's Ford Escort 1600 Sport rear wheel drive. My sister gave it to me before she bought a new car for herself. Had 113,000 km on the clock. Water pump and clutch gave problems. Was written off in an accident.

Mine was a Powder Blue Ford Cortina Mk 3 1600 that i bought 2nd hand when I was in the army and drove to Stellenbosch from Durbanville most of my 5 years at Varsity. Should never have sold it. My dad spotted it two years ago, still on the road, and took this photo.

1970 1500 Beetle.
Everything still original.
I also installed a sound system.
I drove with it from matric for about 7 years, and its now in my parents garage.

2006 Ford Fiesta Style (3 Door). Had it for about 8 years and it never gave me any problems. Only changed my car this year to a 2017 Ecoboost Trend model.
 
My first car was an Opel Kadette which at the time had been imported from Germany. Guess what I paid for her? A mere R800 in cash!
 
Dubbed "Kimberley", this Beetle and I made many memories together. Thinking about trying to track it down and buy it back.

Ford Prefect side-valve, bought for R200 in 1969, bought another one for spares for R70.
Bought a workshop manual and tools, and learnt how to fix cars the hard way!
 
MK2 Golf GTI, 1987 model. My first love which ended up being stolen and never seen again.

How I love this country....
