What whites must do...

I don't think too many people will stand being forced to pay extra money because of their skin. I would bail out of here if it come down to that, my parents didn't even grow up in SA and now we must pay more tax. No sorry bs.

No, the idea is not to race based. The top x number of earners (based on earnings not race). The recipients of poverty relief to be based on level of poverty not race. Naturally, maybe 60%, 70%, 80%, 90% of the top earners may be one race and 60%, 70%, 80%, 90% of the poverty relief recipients may of another race but the idea would not be to base it on on race in terms of the regulations.

I may be wrong - but are you saying the ANC is not the same as the government?

Just used the word government...could also read: I believe the ANC applied for that loan so it was not done by an audited independent poverty relief organisation.

It was an example of how the ANC is part of every large financial transaction in this country. If you make the auditors the powers that be over the funds the ANC will control them. If you don't then the ANC will simply steal it in their normal fashion. There is NO way you will have that kind of cash without some communist screaming fraudster dipping his pinky in the "coke". The ANC has proven that they are around money like junkies around tik. You seriously don't get this do you?

I was thinking along the lines of a UN poverty relief organisation audited by a top 3 auditing company.

Ok, then why do you keep saying "White Capital"?

ok fine accepted then. But why pray tell should I pay more tax - I already fork out close to R100k per year which is supposed to be used to supply me with working infrastructure and gets pilfered by the greedy ANC swines. Why not force the ANC to take a chunk of the already fat tax money they use for bling and deposit that so that IT can be properly used the way they are SUPPOSED to be doing it in the first bloody place? What you are basically getting at is that instead of fixing what is wrong with the country we once again compensate for their dismal failures. I think not.

I understand your point of view. I agree there is an amount of corruption and waste in government. I am not certain what that represents as a percentage of GDP or how it compares to international figures. If we give them the benefit of the doubt (for only a second), are there sufficient funds from current taxes to adequately address poverty?

I love it how people with money are always required to give or fund people without money. Lives not fair, get over it - $#%$^^ I'm not running around with a garage full of Lambo's - and I'm not expecting someone who is to give me his.

Q: Why don't people vote differently?

A: Maybe because of the lack of voter education. Maybe the propaganda machine that has presented the ANC as "the" liberation movement.

She's right there though.....

You're $%# lucky, I paid over R300,000 in tax last year, and the road outside my house is in a serious state.... the drains are infested with cockroaches... etc etc

I have never used that term. Please check the whole thread. I assure you I never used that term.

I apologize, all these race threads and SA down the drain threads look all the same :p. Any who, the fact remains that no one will pay that, and even if it was forced the amount of corruption in the government will need to be addressed first.

The greater the income, the greater the amount paid to government for services you're less likely to use.

I agree. Life is not fair. I would imagine that Zimbabwe farmers think life is even more unfair. I am just opening discussion on possibilities that might avoid Zimbabwe style policies in the future.

My money is on not being able to avoid them - when in Africa....

This country will probably go down the drain like every other country because of their 'policies' to en-richen themselves while making the poor poorer.

I think there is - place a stop on all the expense claims of the ANC. Stop goverment from paying for legal fees for the likes of Zuma (there is supposed to be a separation of state and ruling party anyway) stop letting them buy cars worth millions (let the fuggers drive Uno's ). You don't need a fat BMW to do your job. There are many wasteful spends and robberies taking place of government coffers that is more than sufficient to greatly assist the poor. Just look at the amounts of money thrown about (arms deal, foolius money spent on bridges that washed away) If you take ALL the waste into account there is most likely billions that could have been applied to the poverty in this country. The ANC has had the oppertunity, they have had the finances and they have squandered it. They have lived in oppulance and wastefulness. Roll back the country to 1994 - make someone that is powerful(character wise), logical and intellectual president. Make fraud punishments ultra severe (along with rape murder etc...) and you will have a country that is literally a Utopia. There would have most likely even been a tenure system for the land the government owns. Which by the way constitutes a larger portion of the country than farms (Someone made this point in one of the forums to lazy to go find it now it Saturday for crying out loud.)

The fact is a real difference could have been made but the ANC decided to instead rob the country of everything and screw over the people that voted for them.

No Problem :) I agree in some respects. I am not sure how long those living in poverty are willing to wait. I also wonder what corruption represents in terms of the percentage of GDP and how that compares to international stats.

side note: you know what's really scary. I really work my ass off to earn a decent salary (had a heart attack at 29 because of it) yet people always act like it was just handed to me because I am white. That p1ss3s me off to no end. Too many lazy b4stards in this country of ours.

Move your money overseas

That's really interesting. I wonder how much government owns in millions of hectares?

I'll look for a link to the budget and see how much is allocated to poverty relief in terms of new housing and other poverty relief measures. Perhaps it is enough or maybe it doesn't meet the requirements. I have no doubt way too much is squandered - but the DA and us as the responsible members of the public seem powerless to put a stop to it.

Ah but we are not powerless. As stated earlier in the thread their needs to be voter education. The majority of the population is voting ANC because they don't know what the ANC is doing. If that fails there is one last resort. All must band together and withold taxes. They can't sue the entire country. That way they will go to their knees very quickly.
