Ja, sorry that's just being naive. Also I'm not sure where the mention of fisticuffs and testosterone is coming from
Unless you were scared of getting punched in the face.
Kinda just answered your own question there.
Let's look at some of the factors in play here:
1) It
isn't always obvious that a guy and a girl are "together" unless they're sucking face 24/7 in public, they could just be friends.
2) If you have no insecurities, why would any guy hitting on your girlfriend upset you? Again, take it as a compliment.
3) If a guy forces the issue, report him to his superiors and/or get up and go. Where does this primitive need to protect your territory come into play?
4) It's also natural for people to be more inclined to smile/look at the less-threatening/boorish/arrogant individual in a group of people.
Where does "disrespect" come into it? You are the one who is upset, who is taking it to extremes and imagining the worst and feeling threatened. You are not "impressing" anyone by acting pig-headed, possessive and defensive. The only thing disrespectful is when you feel your dick's territory is being compromised by another man and can't trust or expect your girlfriend to fight her own battles.
I love this idea of "disrespect." I'm sorry, but I just keep playing Jerry Springer through my head with sentences such as, "You're disrespektin' me, yo!" being thrown about by people who can't even comprehend the meaning of the word and affiliate it with "Hurting my feelings."
TL;DR: THERE IS NO BATTLE TO BE FOUGHT, THERE IS NO NEED TO PROVE YOUR MANHOOD, THERE IS NOTHING TO BE UPSET ABOUT.
If something makes you or her feel uncomfortable, report it to their superiors and if it's really
that bad, go to another restaurant. Why the need to take something so personally is beyond me. Maybe you're used to dating ugly chicks that never get so much as a second look from another man? I don't get it. To me this is just a ridiculous way to feel/act/behave that is way too obsessive, controlling, possessive and unhealthy regardless of how you look at it.
