^That chickpea salad looks great.
*Sneaks off with the bowl...

cross post from the Airfryer thread.

Cheeseburger casserole frittata thingy.

Mince, mushrooms, onions, red pepper, lots and lots of cheese and egg mixture. Baked in the air fryer low and slow.

Went to Cavalli's and had the 7 course tasting menu. Sorry if I have no memory of the details of each dish, it's all feeling like a blur

Wanted to get there in the holidays - heard good things about the chef and his veg dishes.

One of my favourite restaurants in the Cape.

Didn’t know there was a tasting menu though. Next time!

Went a few years ago, was ok, should maybe try again some time. I get spices and spice blends from a lady in Salt River who's got a fruit & veg stall...mixes them herself and makes a wicked wet masala mix.
Ah OK, they moved to a bigger premises next door a while ago. Selection seems even bigger now.
Would love to try the stall you're getting from when I'm in CT again. Will pm you when I'm there for directions if you don't mind.

Can't believe we've only tried them now for the first time.

Culture Club in Hazelwood, Pretoria.
Tapas style food.
And wife delightfully found out they are Gin specialists. I took a few sips from her selections and must say they certainly know how to play with flavours.

Ordered a bunch of stuff for the whole family to snack on.

Chicken Liver Pate with caramelised onion marmalade. (Damn! That marmalade. YUM!)
Pan fried patatas with pickled red onions and pepper hash.
Bacon and mozzarella croquettes.
Crumbed Halloumi cubes.
Pork pops.
Chicken strips.

Last two was mainly for the kids but they ended up having more of the Pate and Halloumi than us.

Churros for dessert.

Edit: Bonus Gin pic. Think this was an apple and pineapple mix or something.

Snap! Was there yesterday as well. Always consistent with their food. Can't go wrong.

We had:
Hummus and pita
Squid heads
Melanzane
chicken strips
pork ribs
lamb cigars
chicken livers
corn salsa mix
halloumi bites

and churros for dessert.

Had a few Bloom Gin and tonics..

Everything was great. (no pics though :/)

We will definitely be going there more often.

Think the biggest reason we haven't tried them until now is because they aren't exactly kid friendly. Not that they are against kids at all. Quite the opposite actually. Waiters and manager all very friendly and helpful with the little brats.
And our little ones are only now at a stage where they can sit still for longer periods. (Not that it was the case at all last night) They were running around on Alfie's Pizza deck and patch of grass.
We simply don't like inconveniencing other diners because our kids are bored.

And of course we were very happy with the food quality. Fresh and flavourful and the portions are reasonable.
Service extremely friendly too with manager helping out my wife with some tried and trusted Gin flavours.
