WhatsApp security under fire: EFF

Ahahahahah that EFF.

Thought Julius had become concerned with digital security.

Had me going too. For a moment I thought Julius had actually been a mastermind despite getting such poor grades.

I have given up.

let the whatsapp users suffer in their own stupidity because "everyone already uses it."

let them get adds on FB based on chats they have had in whatsapp.
let them complain when you need a FB login to use Whatsapp in the near future.

then when the regulation happens. let them complain the FBI is reading their messages.

the rest of us will be over on telegram, getting more smart people on there, gaining features that whatsapp users cant even understand.

its android vs Ios or MAc vs PC or IE vs Firefox all over again.there are smart early adopters who make things better and there are people who hang around because its what everyone uses.

everyone on whatsapp right now is basically like people renewing contracts in 2012 and getting a Blackberry, behind the times and too F-ing stubborn to move away from the messaging app of choice.

give it a ****ing rest.

It is actually laughably simple. If you don't want the FBI, et-al coming after your data, don't use a service that collects it. Just use something like Telegram's self-destructing messages.

Whatsapp and security in the same sentence! ... MEGA-LOLZ

And what on this Earth makes you think that Telegram will be exempt from regulations while WhatsApp is regulated? They will be treated in the same way.
I also see that you dislike that people have choice in platforms. Quite nice of you.

All the US government has to do to fix that is to mandate that info be kept for a period (like 5 years).

Then Telegram will most likely change their infrastructure to a P2P mode. So no data ever passes though their servers.
