WhatsApp Web gets iPhone support

iOS users can finally link their devices to WhatsApp’s web client.

The WhatsApp client for iOS has been superior in functionality bar this feature. Now the Android version has caught up and iOS get Web Chat.

Looks like they're gradually rolling it out - not sure if it's going to require an app update or some sort of in-app activation. Still, gives me time to find people I know on whatsapp.

Yeah i had to click through two links to end up on a page that mentioned that link.

They're rolling it out gradually. No app update required. My one phone has it, the other not.

I was under the impression that all phones had this feature. This is the reason why I moved from hangouts to WhatsApp but it still sucks because it only works if your phone has internet connection. Any reason why FB doesn't make a full stand alone web app?

Everyone should move over to Telegram rather. The only benefit that WhatsApp has is it was there first so it was adopted earlier.

Yes like FB messenger and Hangouts. I only use Whatapp out of necessity: everyone is on it.

Surely adoption rates would the primary reason to subscribe to a particular IM app?

Having a large support base ensures continuity and further support from new subscribers.
