I'm poor - my phone is the colour of the case that covers it.

I can't remember the last time my Huawei P20 lite received an update, unlike my iPhone 7 which is running on the latest iOS.

If you get a Huawei and Samsung from a non-Vodacome/MTN source it will get updates. Rather surprisingly Vodacom & MTN have to approve updates which is laughable!

It's not branded. Huawei abandoned the phone at EMUI 9.1.

Controversial, but lets be real for a second here: The jump from iOS 13 to 14 was not as big of a jump as from OneUI 2 to OneUI 3 (or Android 9 to Android 10)

I believe Samsung phones will still receive security updates for 5 years (but features for 3). I stand to be corrected however.

Unlike the Micky Mouse and poorly built iPhone, my phone supports a memory card!!

I wouldn't know - while my [elderly] iPhone runs the latest iOS available, my [newer] Huawei only runs Android 9.

Which was pretty much my point, if we're being real.

When iCloud goes down, just like the outage that killed Blackberry... You'll see the demise of Apple iPhones.

Have you looked inside an iPhone? Can you comment on it's build quality (or lack thereof) verses Samsung or Huawei?

I'd rather go without a phone than use an iPhone! I couldn't live with the shame!

iphone and samsung (galaxy, note, etc) should be no different, the insides of the iphone in terms of the pcb logic board and quite a few components like screens, etc, are made by samsung.

You should buy better quality SD cards. Only ever had one SD card fail on me and it was a week old one at that.

Then my iPad mini 2 still gets updates even though it is officially not supported anymore.

A security patch and a OS update is not the same thing. My iPad mini 2 got officially unsupported in 2019. That is 6 years support to the newest OS version. I still receive security updates every now, but that isn't seen as it being supported.
