i want to know who ibursts target market is with this product?

Not businesses.

Not home users.

People who are willing to spend R250/gb yet still cant get credit approved?

So like Nigerian drug lords then or what?

Well what is clear is everyone is going to have to leave iburst now.

R250per gig? And that is the cheapest option?

What planet did this come from?

It is just shocking. Beyond shocking. Shame on you iburst.

Very nice that you guys make yourself available to the forum, but if you are not going to listen to the sentiments expressed here, what is the point?

This product offering proves only one thing, that iBurst is continuing to place its main focus and effort on ways of ripping us off.

Any attempt by us to get a better value proposition from iBurst is clearly futile.

Neotel now appears to be the only way forward.

I am hoping that this isn't the only additional package iBurst will offer us in the coming weeks. I hope we'll see bigger caps, substantially cheaper boosters or greater softcap speeds and not this offering which is VERY EXPENSIVE and seems to make no sense.

ok... just so the Iburst guys get it, marketing screwed up nobody likes this new product. It is very unlikely to attract new customers without massive amounts of advertising. Oh and you have loads of clients who are willing to pay more for better out of cap speeds...etc with just a webpage and a link on a forum you can generate more money. Just give us what we asked for. This is not aimed at the gimme more for same money crowd!

LMAO!!
:D:D

But seriously, I hope they have more to offer, because if this is what we've all been waiting for, then its a FAIL!!

I see such a lot of people buying modems at R2 800 so that they can pay R250 a gig...

Sure as hell hope this is not the thing product has been working on for months.

For this to be of any use to anyone it has to be AT LEAST as cheap as Vodacom 3G. Why would anyone want to use iBurst prepaid if it's more expensive than 3G, slower than 3G and doesn't have the coverage of 3G?

Epic fail.

I have to agree. 3G is so much faster and WAY more coverage. Damn R500 for 2Gb and it "afordable"

I sure hope they don't use the word on their website.

What about this...

1. 12 month data window
2. No contract
3. No credit vetting – only RICA required.

12 month Data window would be a huge plus. All the complaining aside, that with a 1GB Bundle for R250 would be a good start and then cheaper for bigger bundles. That would be reasonable and you guys would get lots of new business guaranteed.

The company will be offering brand new internet users a Prepaid Starter Kit which includes a USB modem,
an installation disk, 30MB of data, a user name and an email address all for under R1000.

This doesn't make sense, people are going to fork out R1000 so that they can buy 2GB vouchers for R500?

This is not a cellphone company.

If they have a modem lying around, that's because they've moved on.

This must be aimed at ignorant Grandma & Grandpa.

IMO, this is an EPIC FAIL...

A 1GB prepaid data bundle on Vodacom 3G is R289. Shaun says that the iBurst price will be R250 for a 1GB data bandle.

According to the maths I learnt at school: R250 < R289. That means prepaid iBurst is cheaper than 3G - right?

I am on Neotel and I am glad that I moved to Neotel and dont have to worry about capping anymore, I paid R999 for 10GB on Iburst on month to month and paid for the modem and on Neotel I pay R998.99 for unlimited data and also got free minutes with Neotel and double the speed of Iburst and telephone included in the price

This is not a Cell Phone company.
IBurst cannot compete on speed or coverage.
And the 1GB bundle you mention is not on the iBurst Web site.
FAIL
