WHEN WILL SONY ERICSSON K850i BE RELEASED IN RSA

hrmm i need to get me a phone and was thinking this might be a good one to get but.. n95 8Gb model looks good to :( esp since its got wifi + 8GB + xennon + carl zeus lens etc. *confused* me wonders if se perhaps missed on a few features.. then again i read somewhere the battery life is good compare the n95 power eater :p

Vodashop in the Norwood Mall claims they'll have the K850i by early next week...:D We shall see....;)

If its out, then I think my upgrade has just been decided for me :D

ive had nokia and samsung phones got a samsung x820 at the moment and was going to upgrade to the n95 8gig but then at mobile review they were saying that the camera isnt that good even being a 5meg camera but they seem to say that the k850i camera is better than the n95. at work my friend has a k800i and his keeps crashing dunno why though. what iam conserned about is the firmware / software i mean can one update it themselves legally?

From reading other reviews the opinion seems to go something like if you want a phone with a good camera on it then the se models are what u want, but if u want something with more/other features(at the expense of photo quality to a degree) as well then the nokia one is what u get. Keeping in mind that more features come at the added expense of more battery usage if u use those obviously.

ok now that makes sence to me, sometimes after reading reviews and things its hard to know what to think and even choose, thing is ive been waiting very patiently for my upgrade to come along and it finally has i was leaning towards the n95 8gig release but the camera does things like guessing of colours according to mobile review and adds more colour to the pics to make them better or something like that. http://www.mobile-review.com/review/nokia-n95-cam-en.shtml

thing is a need a phone that has good speakers and volume that is clear as i work in a very load office building with loud tvs and other things and sometimes i just dont hear my phone at all

from reviews i been reading there's really nothing in it between the K850i, N95-8GB and N82. In fact the N82 is getting some very good reviews... decisions decisions...

Looks like the K850i is available. Took delivery 5/12/07 thru Vodacom. Been a Nokia user for many years now and feel like a traitor yet Nokia seem to be a little off 'colour' right now and the K850i was recomended so will be trying this one out. Looks cool and camera really awesome feature. Getting used to the phone and not with much difficulty either.

which Nokia were you using prior to getting the Sony?

Oh crap, so I guess that means limited functionality, slow interface, crap icons and no flash themes.

Lol no nothing like that, where do you get all that crap from???
Crap icons thats about it.

Hows the interface?
Fast responsive, no delays on taking pictures?

Would you recommend getting it...

ya i get why people hate the branding so much but why then don't you just debrand the phone??? You can do it for free which is a little risky otherwise just pay like i think its $1-2 or something and your done. The phone is left with the original SE firmware. I have the k810i and a few menus were hidden so i debranded it. Now its perfect.

PS im also waiting on the k850, my upgrade has been available since like sep and i want the phone now!
