I found a sock inside the tumble dryer the other day when I was replacing the drive belt. So that's one mystery solved, only a few hundred more to go then I'm done with the socks.

I also have this issue, one theory is that they are inside the washing machine. I normally buy the bulk packs from Edgars so its normal the black socks with grey toe and heel area but somehow they get mixed with my previous batches and then I end up with different shades of grey socks............real men are not so worried about different shades of grey

I do the same. I've given up on this ****. I just take two that are more of less the same colour, and if it's not I don't really care anymore.
