We have collected it door to door, we have received data directly from people, and we have sourced data from providers

Providers that I gave my details to and don't recall giving any consent to selling to a third party ?

This doesn't sit well with me at all.

Would be nice if I could source a database of DA cell-phone numbers so I can call and sms them a few times to see what they think of my services.

Not since https://www.nationaloptout.co.za/ in 2010 they don't... and spam sms is just now and then, very rarely the same spammer over and over.

On that note, I got a sim for data only, never given it to anyone, I don't even know the number, got an sms from sabc re tv licence on it. I would have normally gone, meh, spam, but, it had my real name in it... where the **** did they get that.

I am going to try and get a T Shirt tomorrow from the ANC/EFF Tables which will be again setup as close as practically possible to the voting station to irritate some whites.

I guess they can get your number if they really want to. RICA / FICA etc. For all we know your contract provider is selling your details - gotta read all that fine print.

Also, I think they recycle numbers although I'm not sure how that works. I got a brand new sim years ago with my contract and to this day I still get SMSes and calls for a Miss Angelique regarding her debt.
