I think they are a bit of a gimmick. I got a metal set and they end up rolling down the glass towards your mouth when you drink and make a bit of a racket.
I'd be worried about my teeth.

Whisky Live in Cape Town was excellent last night. Tried lots of new ones and some old favorites.
Came away with a bottle of an unpeated Islay which was most excellent....

How much?
R899
Same price as Makro.
Not bad. Can't really decide on the nose but has pleasant, light Peaty taste.

So after dipping into the bottle a bit the nose has really opened up nicely. Quiet enjoying this dram![]()

I guess any Spar Tops will have, although this one has a rather impressive whiskey and tequila (mescal) range
The Glenmorangie Nectar D'or is currently a 12 year old whisky, can anyone tell me if a 15 year old version existed.
The whisky is aged for 12 years in the standard barrels and then for an additional 3 years in the Sauternes Casks. So my guess is that the labelling requirements changed rather than the whisky being any different.
Actually all of them start out as the 10 year old and then the Lasantha/Quinta Ruban/Nectar D'or spend another 2 years in their finishing casks. That's the current offers which at all 12 years.
Aah, then yes, there used to be a 15 year version based on the ages I said. Definitely had an insert in one of the boxes that said 12 then 3. That was a Lasanta bottle.
