It seems so, just look at the reaction when they have to deal with a back button.

I like ridiculing iPhone users as much as the next guy but it certainly doesn't take away from the fact that the back buttons is indeed broken. Didn't really bother me too much before I read the article, but this article definitely has a point.

I see however the latest update of Maps fixed the icon bug where it would show the wrong app.

I don't get what the problem is, will have to just agree to disagree.

If you open a message from the notification bar, doesn't it start running the application? Therefore to exit the application you might have to press back more than once? Or just click the home button?

Although I must say that sometimes I spam the back button when I've finished fondling my phone.

Also, imho, to say that the back button is broken is an exaggeration.

"I Never Have Any Idea What The Back Button Will Do" - It takes you back...

I think if you dont understand how the "back" button works you should probably stay on IOS... its designed for people who dont know what a back button does.

I actually tried to replicate some of his claims and all I found was that this guy is a hack.

1) Back button does not do what he says, I tried. It just goes back.

2) Play store does remember my location when I press back.

3) Get another theme if you don't like the icons. Not rocket science.

Android is not perfect, but if you want to want to point it out, get better reasons than this.

In the world? Have you met all of the tech users in the world? Where is your survey? You have no grounds for your claim of the iphone demographic.

Sure, there are people who do use iPhones and have some savvy, but you can't judge all of them.

1) Yep, it goes back back in the queue of activites that got you to where you are now.

2)Play Store doesn't remember your scroll position if you install an app and go back.

This is a good point, you can literally change your icons to what ever you want, you can of course even pick any icon for each individual app, there are probably many ways, I use ADW, there are probably millions of icons to choose from, I'm sure you can even make your own.

when did they change this. i am pretty sure on some version of market this feature was available.

I'm not saying Android sucks, I love Android but the back button is most definitely inconsistent if you believe what the manual says. Looks like Play Store bug has been fixed very recently, I experienced the issue mentioned in the article last week only. Sweet, bring on more bug fixes!

Some time ago think back with ICS launch, but there are ways around it.

1: logon to Wallet and see your transaction history as Per XDA http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1563537
2: Downgrade if you have an older V2 Market application (Not an option for ICS users)
3: Install Modoco's Modified Market Application http://www.modaco.com/topic/356009-r2-legacy-play-store-with-all-purchased-apps-visible/

yeah i went and downloaded modaco's rom when i read that part

seems a strange thing to take away
 
Well, It looks like they've fixed the scroll location in the Market problem

I've just installed google apps for 4.1 and it definitely does remember scroll location.

Android seems to be sucking a little less.
