@WebAfrica Helper @WebafricaTheScam I've been using webafrica for a while now and since the start I've had issues with my internet connection, I've contacted them multiple times and you can truly tell the agents hate their jobs and most likely despise having to deal with customer issues, I've bought a new router, changed cables and spend literal days in hour terms trying to reconfigure and get the issue resolved with their agents to no avail.

They did get me with their "special price offer" scam and quickly upped the monthly rates after 3 months while still offering the same special price offer.

I am ready to rather get a new service provider and would appreciate info on who the better isp is as I don't want to be stuck with the same issues.

One agent definitely did try and help, but this is 1 out of 50 plus agents I've dealt with over the years, the Elizabeth and Martha agents are the worst of the bunch.

@WebAfrica Helper Can only do 1 problem at a time.

So if you ask what they are doing about kak support you will get "OPs current problem has been addressed".
Or after waiting 20 min for a response in a chat they will close the chat if you don't reply within 2 min after receiving a response from one of the agents as if I've only been staring at phone waiting for a response.

Their team leads and supervisors must truly be kak at their jobs as there is zero oversight to what the agents are doing and they will close the chat so that the "rate our service" option doesn't come up.

All by design.

WebAfrica is an exemplar of garbage-tier organisations in South Africa and should be avoided.

Thanks for the @ :)

I went ahead and finally bit the bullet and canceled with webafrica, this was the first time ever they wanted to get a supervisor and technical team involved to assist, they also offered a discount but it's not worth it.

@CoolEscalator I've signed up with you now, I truly hope you won't do me dirty like webafrica did.

Thank you for letting me know. We are alwys here to help where we can :)
Please do note that we can only proceed with your application once the line has been released from your current ISP. You can get all the admin out of the way by providing your RICA and POA documents, alongwith images of the installation via your ticket.

After this, our team will proceed with the order once the line is available.

EDIT: Are you able to share you #COOL reference for me to keep an eye on the ticket?

My favourite is when I do a huge amount of trace and speedtest cataloguing under the sun to show that it's a problem with WebAfrica, and they finally submit it to a tech, and the answer I get back is, "no everything is fine".

Weird, because ever since I moved to Afrihost, I don't have the bullsht slow speed/high ping problem in the evenings anymore.

I used to be a supporter of WA. Even punting them for a few years since 2018. Then they moved to DD/IS in prep for the MWEB purchase and it all went to sht. I still remember @cavedog saying something to the effect of, "oh yeah, good luck everyone" a while back.

The South African way- deny, deny, deny

Once again I find myself staring down the barrel of a gun full of servicelessness from Webafrica after promising myself to move onto another provider over 12 months ago. So yeah. My fault for staying with them I suppose.

Is there a quick and painless way to move to someone who:
1. values their long standing clients
2. provides services such as Fixed IP
3. provides any/all feedback within a reasonable timeframe whether they can or cannot provide a residential fixed IP
4. Keeps track of said customers issue without them having to repeat themselves
5. Doesn't only provide Tech/Sales/Billing support on Whatsapp
6. Fixes their customer login database when customer is unable to update their credit cards expiry and cvv details
7. Doesn't throttle their customers from 550/550Mbps to 75/75Mbps when customer is unable to submit payment via Webafrica's prefferred method
