Why The iPhone Is Better

These iPhone debate threads are getting over board. They simply should just be locked. And let us Apple 'fanbois' move on with our lives and you haters move on with yours...

Unless someone has an iPhone themselves and is willing to debate the phone then I am willing to enter into a constructive debate, till then go Navigate you way somewhere with your fancy Garmin software, or take 5MP pictures of naked men with your Carl Zeiss lens, or maybe MMS naked shots of yourself to someone, or use your phone as a Wifi hotspot, what ever it is you guys do with your Nokia's etc - bla bla bla - you get my point..

By the way, who wants a N95 8GB? I've lost interested in it, don't use it anymore after I got my iPhone... :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

...good idea, and while we do all that you can go and look at yourself in the reflection of your shiny, pretty iPhone and chant how clever you are for owning such an expensive fashion statement before kissing your reflection!!

What's so expensive about R5000? I mean the Nokia was R8000. And correction: this is a fashion statement.

Im 25 busy doing my masters at Varsity and work as a part time DJ for the last 5 years... I am real life bud... You on the other hand can't wait to wake up in the morning and go online and piss ppl off. JOB WELL DONE!

I think the iPhone is for people that like to impress people... To be honest... Everyone KNOWS about the iPhone, even the NON-tech saffy people... Its like you might have this AWESOME phone thats much better than the iPhone, you whip it out and people think to themselves (WTF, nerd, etc. or nothing...)

BUT THey see the iPhone, they're like "OMW You have the iPhone, thats awesome..." Even tho as a phone it ISNT, but the fact that everyone knows about it and actually thinks it is, is the selling point...

iPhone - Coming soon to a teenager near you...

The iPhone is awesome. Yes, it may not be a technology packed powerhouse device like some of the super tech savvy folk want - it's a consumer device- and as a consumer device, it works beautifully.

It's sleek, fast, exciting, and intuitive. Yes, WE ALL KNOW it's missing some things, the camera isn't great. But....I have many phones at my disposal - and guess what - I am still using my iPhone. Why? Cause it's easy to use - it just works and it's pretty.

Apple have achieved their goal IMO.
 
iPhone review -- surely this is not true ... is it? From PC Magazine:

Instant-messaging and e-mail programs may get an upgrade this September that will let them alert you when they aren't running, Apple has said.

i Wouldnt know whats better but i just ordered the omnia and i dont see how the iphone can validate R300 extra every month it might be better but R300PM Better no ways ?

I have been on the phone all day trying to find a place that got the Omnia in stock!

Almost every shop in Jo'burg, I have called can't give me a date but only say it will be sometime in November. I thought about porting to MTN cos most MTN shops do have the phone in stock, but I got some terrible service from the MTN shop today when I enquired about the phone.

Just to +1 your point, the camera may not be minblowing on paper but IRL it rocks and its the most used on Flickr by quite a wide margin... wonder why that is??

I got my iPhone this weekend after weeks of contemplation. I actually opted to go with one of the other WinMo devices (Omnia, HTC Tytn II) primarily because of the price.
But when I went to vodashop and actually calculated what these other smartphones would cost me, I decided to rather pump an extra few bucks in and get an iPhone (my first choice). C'Mon people, it's more than R300 a month for the Omnia (I think the salesman said R320)...and then I'd still need some data, which would mean R160 for a 250MB bundle. That's R480pm, honestly, i'd rather fork out R120 extra for the iPhone (if that's your phone of choice of course).
 
i think the iPhone has proven its a ball of ***, those that have them defend them, so they dont feel so bad about forking out for a piece of crap...now let the poor iphone die and get buried, its grown a beard and gotten terminally ill already

Why would you read info about the iPhone that is posted by PC Magazine?

I run fring in the background in order to use VoIP & MSN, and my iPhone checks for new mail every 15 minutes...

Whats happens if I send 10 5MB mails to you?
 
Hence the word I used: 'checks'.

Like Slinky said, it download headers only and notifies me. If I wish to download an attachment of 5MB, i'll wait til I get to my Mac. :D

I cant find that setting to download headers only, how do I set that up?
