Why Windows 10 October update deleted user files

I'm not talking about me.... More my business.

3 function related issues are always a cockup in network infrastructure if you want to go completely with out microsoft.

NTDS AD (SAMBA is behind enough with the tech and simply a opensource copycat AD environment, I have security concerns here.)

Exchange (Out of the solutions I've seen Zentyal looks like it's the most reliable. I still have security concerns but from the front it looks worth while.)

Office (Getting a alternative is horrid and requires end user training. Compatibility with macro's and all that. Even if you can get rid of ms you can't get rid of the office suite easily and since there is no office application for linux gnu's you're pretty much stuck.)

2 things that would rip microsoft to shreds.

They make the poor business decision to have ms office for linux. (Azure moving here might supply a workaround but that requires web based everything if you can't install the client. Another problem with legacy add-ins and stuff.)

Apple releases OSX for non apple products.

Actually works for most office docs, and I find the interface better. Otherwise any of the online Google Suite, many companies just moved to that. Cool thing is now hangout chats is included with that, so you get a nice Slack alternative that actually has message history without increasing costs as it's something you're already paying for anyways.

Wouldn't say Libre Office requires training either, interface is pretty much the same for most users. Swapped it out at one office as they had Office 2010, was having problems with newer documents, moved over, documents open, all's good, no complaints about interface/not being able to do something. This is small business though, not enterprise, and for just normal usage, not heavy journalism etc. where there are MS features you might want, or e.g. excel with makros (though think Libre has Makros as well).

And having MS Office for linux is not a poor decision, Microsoft is moving to service based rather than product based. Open source alternatives are catching up/exceeding paid alternatives, they're good to start moving their product stack/focus, and it's paying off if you've looked at their financials.
 
Tried libre. It's ok if your organisation is willing to adapt and redo a tonne of their work not to mention taking on a mail client like thunderbird which is a step back to 2003 days in comparison.

I should've mentioned there's no MS office for linux.
 
Microshaft is good at screwing up, look at Office365
