Wifi antenna

Hi.
Just a quick question(hopefully)
If I take my AP at home, which has a removable antenna & then I put in a big outdoor omni antenna, will that work?
Will the AP have enough power to actually use the omni?

Hopefully that actually makes sense...

yep it will work try keep your antenna cable short as possible to avoid losses

well I have that Mega 105 from telkom and a linksys, my friend said I could have his monster antenna so I just wanted to know if it would work before I go out and buy the connection converters


edit: okay question 2, I have a wireless USB card that has a external antenna, could I insert this antenna on a wireless card? very unpractical I know, but will it work?

if the connector plugs unto the card. Maybe you should just buy a pci wifi card or get a wigi router from the computer store.

It depends on the output of the wifi card. no use putting a big antenna onto a radio that can not power it.
