WildStar

Oh and btw, when you do get up and running, take a look at http://www.curse.com/ws-addons/wildstar
I grabbed a addon that helped with questing (Ayth_Quest) and another for automatic selling of junk in inventory and repairs when visiting a vendor (JunkIt)

Also can recommend checking out guides for crafting/cooking as they have a crafting system that I haven't come across before in other games and maybe because of my age and thickness, am struggling to do it properly and successfully.

Ahh a kindred spirit! :D

Crafting system is very cool actually. I like the little minigame that allows you to make something better or different if you use the right components in the right order.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you guys know that we started an SA community site for WildStar a while back, where Exiles and Dominions alike can commune, recruit and chat about the game. Currently, there are two SA guilds actively recruiting, Sorted (Exiles ~ Eko PvE) and Grim Wolves (Dominion ~ Zhur PvP). It's great that many South Africans are playing together again - hasn't been this way since Vanilla WoW! Hope you guys are all enjoying the game as much as I am, heh heh! Btw, Riaan/Yster, is that you? If it is, it sure has been a while! :o

Right , Anyone needing a guild on Contagion ... contact me .. Kreopolis
Done my first video guide on one of the bosses in the lvl 20 dungeon.

See you all online
Nicely made video! Make some moar!

Some advice I could give, try to cut out that initial standing around waiting part, or accelerate it so that on a 5:48 vid I don't sit waiting for 1:20 for action to start.

It was good to see some healing in action. I am trying to learn how to heal on my Spellsinger, but I suck immensely! You make it look very easy indeed.

I find Spellslinger healing really fun. Although I will say this about the two healers that I have tried. Slinger and Medic.
The Medic is easier right now. Sure his range is shorter and his playstyle a little different, but when fights are still a little bit frantic and people are moving erratically, the wider area heals are more consistent than the narrow long range heals.

I compare it to PVP where people are diving around all over the show. Trying to line up a narrow heal, only to have people dash out of it is a little annoying. So when dungeon fights go well and everyone knows what they are doing. I think the slinger will be far easier to heal on.

I also want to start with a Spellslinger.

Mine is only level 22 or so. I haven't played for a while. The slinger is awesome though. I find he has better options for skills than the medic for things like pvp for instance.

I mentioned it earlier in this thread, but the medic needs a generator, a spender, a movement, a CC and a strong CD for dmg. So 5 slots are taken up as mandatory slots in any build.
The slinger is not as restricted. For doing dmg at least, a Slinger can roll in with quickdraw and wildbarrage and have more than enough dmg to go around with clever use of spellpower. Adding the gate ability gives you movement and CD in one. So you have 5 flavour slots left to refine your build around. More than enough to have an oh **** button, a standard heal for utility, and some extra helping of CC. Once you get assassinate, you are left with 4 flavour slots as assassinate is basically mandatory too.

For healing. The tier 3 AMP unlock heal is an absolute mandatory heal. Until you get it, you are quite restricted on what you can do, considering that your spammable heal up to that point is only a single target. Both assault and support tier 3 unlocks are really game changing. Luckily you gain access to this ability just before you need it for your first dungeon at level 20. So it works out perfectly I think.
Whereas I found the medic's tier 3s a little underwhelming.

Interesting that you have tried both medic and spellslinger for healer. Our core 2 lvl 50's that are healing our Gold/silver runs for dungeons are a spellslinger and a medic. I have found the medic struggles to heal up large hits on the tank and the spellsinger has less AOEoe but those situations tend to happen less rarely lately. This is of course coming from my perspective as a spectator dps who is not actually doing the healing.

Having said that, Sorted Gaming have 2 groups comfortably getting gold on the adventures. They are great fun guys, interesting mechanics and you can always chose a different task/path in each of them which makes it a lot less grindy and more like a... well, adventure.
The dungeons are proving to be a lot more difficult. Each boss requires quite a bit of strategy. Timing, positioning and execution are all crucial and 1 person failing can mean an entire wipe. In short I would equate the current 5 man dungeons to be on the same level of work as WoW raids but with only 5 people.

We are working through them now and trying to get our Gold/Silver for the attunement process.
I cant express more how much I am enjoying this game. I have heard that a lot of people are not renewing their sub now at the end of this month.
I urge those who love the challenge of raiding to reconsider.

Thank you very much.
We have added a promo there by one of my friends
currently improving my video editing and waiting for my R9280x to arrive Then i will make more.

Healing with medic is easy at times. but can also get frustrating in certain fights as the bosses do AOE abilities and the group spreads you have to try run after everyone :)

Also Focus cost of medic heals are crazy i tend to run out a lot in long pve battles.
If you guys need any help with healing pvp or pve /w me ingame Kreopolis is the name :) and if you feel like moving to my server , know that you will have a guild to join.

Good luck guys , see you online!

I would actually like class specific threads for Wildstar. Installed it last night with the hope of playing, but needed to download about 5GB and it only finished during the night. So will start playing today. Would be awesome if there was class specific threads to read and others of the same class giving their input so we can all improve. I'm currently stuck between creating a Spellslinger or a warrior. So much of dam,n reading online but I'm still pretty much stuck...

Well first off. Rather stick to the larger and more official forums for that kind of talk. We just don't have the traffic here for that. Secondly, on the War/Sling decision. What do you want to do with it? PvP/PvE, Heal, DpS or tank?

I have found that when I am dps specced in pvp for Slinger, I always end up as top dmg dealer. While still making point/mask captures. If I am healing, it is always one of the ranged classes getting top dmg dealer. Now I know that makes you think that things are not balanced. But it is actually because ranged classes can hi more people more easily during the clusterfudge that is pvp point control. A warrior can usually take me 1v1 unless I outplay him pretty hard.

In PvE. For tanking, I had heard that Warriors were the last pick for main tanking. Engineers being much better due to their ranged tanking ability and even Stalkers being better for whatever reason. That was during the Beta. Not sure how much tank balance has happened since then.

I prefer healing to tanking. So the Slinger works perfectly for me. As he is also fantastic at dps when I decide to switch it up.

Balance is still borked. Engi is only better at tanking that Warriors due to their ability bugs generating more threat than it should.

Warriors struggle to keep threat and thus people avoid tanking with them.
Stalkers has nice burst which makes it easy to build and hold threat.

As for PVP, Stalkers is way OP in my opinion from a DPS perspective...

Oh yeah, I mean a stalker can melt just about anything 1v1 from stealth especially. I just find that the ranged chars, especially the slinger, end up doing more group dmg because they are doing 85% of the stalkers dmg on a single target, but managing to line up 3 or 4 people in the same dmg area. I think the Slinger does more than the other two (Medic and Esper) because their spamming ability is more mobile (Compared to Esper) and safer (Longer range when compared to the medic). On top of the extra utility that they can bring in their action set, because they are not the builder->spender type of dps class, as both of the other two are.
But let a stalker or warrior jump on me and I will instantly void slip out of there. I aint sticking around to get stabby stabbed.

Man I just can't get to like this game. I'll push through still and see if ti gets any better... The more I play the more I want to re-sub my WoW :o. I got to that tank killing mission yesterday and just switched it off. Will give it a spin again through the course of this week. Given I'm only level 10 and don't have a clue what I'm doing is prob the reason I can't get a liking in it yet.

Bleh...

I'm also struggling a little - although no WoW-cravings haha. Still level 16 on my Warrior which I was enjoying, but after arriving at the main city I found that things open up a bit too quickly (professions, housing, mounts, quests, areas), so I'm not 100% sure what I should be doing or focusing on. I'd guess the answer is just to get out there and kill more things. ;)

Won't call it WoW cravings as such :o Just that i really need a game to play as the ones I'm playing currently are all just bleh. I was hoping Wildstar is it. Maybe it is and I just haven't given it enough time yet. But as things stand currently I'll flogg this game and just get WoW subs again.
