Will Windows 8 be better than Windows 7?

the 2 major features 8 will seem to have, that I am liking very much is:

- integrated ISO mounting ability
- the way copying files will become more versatile; can add files to a current copy progress, pause certain progress if you want another to have priority (much like the tool TOTALCOPY in XP)

not sure if I will be liking the fact that it seems Explorer will have a very Office'y look... much like Office, they seem to be working on a "stat based" layout such as, how often whichever feature is used most and from that, creating a layout.
(will see if I can find link again to explain better)

Ive always used Totalcommander, even when it was called windows commander, the predecessor, so the copying thing doesn't even apply to me. And the Iso thing, well I guess 99% of people has always been using using deamon tools or alcohol120. Its like getting a toyota and putting a VW engine in or other way around, meaning not gonna happen.
The 1st thing Im gonna do to all my win 8 installs is disable the Metro UI if I do ever upgrade to win8. The Metro UI really sucks.

Thanks for the opinions people :) I hope Windows 8 will offer even better gaming performance than Windows 7.

I remember installing Windows Vista onto my old laptop (which died 2 months ago). Vista didnt install, it said an error had occured and it did not roll back the installation (like Windows 7, rolls back if the installation fails). I had to install XP again, and then Windows 7.

What is this about Windows going to make an App store? A friend told me Windows is going to have an App Store for Windows 8.

I also think the Metro User Interface is confusing and it sucks. Hope Windows 8 does have the option to disable Metro UI

Beg to differ. Metro is a new paradigm and worth investing <30 mins to learn. One gets the hang of it in 3 minutes. After 5 minutes one's quite deft. After half an hour the beauty, logic, elegant simplicity and power begins to make a lot of sense. After an hour you start liking it. After two, you like it a lot. After a day you can't wait to get back in the morning and enjoy computing again.

With respect, speak for yourself. It still looks like a slapped on ipad wannabe to me.

In what possible way?

It's just my subjective observation. An opinion, that's all. I simply don't like it. As others have mentioned, I just hope they improve the metro ui integration into the rest of the os.

I can understand if you don;t like it. How is it an iPad wannabe? The ipad is nothing more than a grid of icons that launch apps. Metro tries to do a little more than just that.
