Do not really ever use them late at night and if I need to and there is an
incident' it might become very interesting.

More concerning to me is the overall quality, or lack thereof of Uber in general lately.
Vehicles in bad condition, not maintained.
Drivers running their cars on fumes (over the last month more than 50% of Uber rides I did the fuel light was on or came on during the trip).
Driving behaviour in general is not as great as it used to be, in PE most of them were on par/competing with the taxis.

Would prefer to not use them, but sometimes there are no viable alternatives.
In time I predict they will not be useable for most any longer.
Don't worry it was simply rectified to Africa Standards

Uber just exploits their users.

I had booked the night before, a trip back to the airport, but the next day they must have had an influx or they just knew how to rip their users off, because they cancelled the trip and then tripled the cost.

Bastards.

Never used uber, never will

Other:

Used Uber once and not even on my own account.

Wish I didn't have to use it...

Gone to dogs in Durban, early morning rides they always ask where you heading to, and if it's not worth it, cancel rides on repetition.

Defeats the purpose of having such a service.

Probably better to go old school, and ask a friend for a trip

Neither my wife and I have had a bad experience with Uber here in PE. Bolt, on the other hand... :whistle.

Only use Uber Black these days, still reasonably priced for shorter trips, but the drivers are so much friendlier, vehicles are cleaner and I feel safe while driving with them.

I'm genuinely surprised at how many people have never used Uber. I wouldn’t even know how to go back to living without them. Designated drivers whenever you go to a restaurant, asking people for a lift to the airport, waiting for a shuttle when you take your car for a service. It'd be like living in the 1900s.

Yeah I don’t know either, even though I dislike Uber drivers more than I dislike taxi drivers I still wouldn’t be able to survive without it. Even meeting hookups late at night is so much easier with Uber, you don’t have to worry about parking your car outside in some unknown neighbourhood while you get pomped. It is a god sent.

PS I still hate Uber drivers.

Yup, and if you need to convince the slay queen that you're rich, you just order an Uber Black. Never have to explain why you drive an 8-year-old R150k piece of crap.
