Will you ever buy Seagate again?

I don't think so...

2 seagates failed on my in the past month (a 400 SATA and a 200GB PATA) and all these other people with their problems (including a friend and other members of his extended family) and the warranty has now been reduced to 3 years.

Western Digital (and maybe Samsung), here I come...

From reading all the nonsense with Seagate drives I will NEVER buy a Seagate drive. I currently run Samsung and WD drives and no issues. Previously if buying a drive I didn’t take notice of the brand, I am wiser now, Seagate is the devil.
 
I certainly won't be buying any of the 7200.11s. Unfortunately the 7200.11s are the size drives I'm going to be interested in for the near future.
 
Seagate, like everything else seems to have good drives and lemon drives, but there seem to be more lemons lately than before. Or could it be that the opposition is producing better drives? I always preferred Seagates and have had many of them that lasted for years, but, after this this issue with the 500G I am starting to get concerned. Thats a lot of data to loose if the drive throws a wobbly.

Not only the 500GB, the 1TB and 1.5TB as well.

I will also not buy another Seagate. Mine's still working, touch wood, but why do you have to flash it and still worry on a whole series of drives, not just a bad lemon or two.
 
I'm a Seagate Fan boi for life... everyone has bumps... it's life, Seagate has hopefully learnt from their lessons.
 
I have almost all Seagate drives, and they have served me well, but from now on, I certainly won't be buying more, not until they get their issues sorted.
 
I have two x1TB internal and 1x 500gig external seagate (freeagent)

Up to now, no problem with any - holding thumbs - i got so much to loose if they crash.
 
I have two Seagate 500GB which (so far) are alright. However every delay I see or lag on bootup, makes me stress. I'd rather not stress :/

An issue is not many places stock WD (retail) and Seagate seem to have the market
