I am running Windows 10 Enterprise Insider Preview and updated to the latest version - Build 21327rs - a few days ago.

Ever since then, whenever I click on the Action Center icon on the taskbar to view any 'toast notifications', the Action Center panel freezes, the mouse goes into a 'runaway cursor' scenario, randomly drifting haphazardly all over the screen, and the keyboard refuses to respond to any commands as well.

The only way to get out of this, is to do a hard reboot.

I have even tried changing the setting in the Group Policy Editor to disable the Action Center & Notifications, then done a reboot, but the damn Action Center icon is STILL displaying on the taskbar.

I also just updated another PC of mine to the Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview with the same build number as well - and it also now has the exact same problem cropping up as well.

I hope that Microsoft rolls out a bug-fix patch soon to sort out this issue, as it is very irritating when the PC's screen freezes up simply by just clicking on the Action Center icon to read notifications.

Have you tried doing an in-place upgrade?

The latest ISO images for Win 10 Insider Preview available to download from Microsoft are version numbers lower than the one I am currently on (Build 21327rs).

That sucks then.
Your best bet is to use the Feedback Hub, report the problem and update to the next build when it's released.

It's small issues like this that made me stop being an insider.
I need to work on my PCs. Tinkering is fun and all, but I can't take the chance anymore.

If you don't have many apps and data, then reloading to 20H2 is my suggestion.

Update done - slight improvement in the runaway mouse cursor issue - as soon as I click on the Action Center icon on the taskbar, it starts to misbehave again - but the runaway is not so bad anymore and I can click on the desktop to close the Action Center & regain normal mouse behaviour.

Before this update, once it began to runaway, you lost all mouse & keyboard functionality until it finally returned back to normal again.

So I will just stick to CTRL+A and the TAB key to navigate the Action Center until such time as MS manages to resolve this glitch.
