Hi guys

Not sure if this has been discussed anywhere yet, but i am having major CPU and memory issues whilst using windows 10. The service "system" with description NT Kernel System is using insane amounts of memory causing my PC to become extremely slow.

Anyone with advice on how to get this sorted?

Tx

Thanks for the link fulcrum29. Going to see if that works.

Another thing, how's everyone's data usage been? I'm noticing lots of activity on my wifi network when I am not surfing the internet. I've disabled all the privacy settings which sends microsoft feedback yet theres still alot of usage.

Any ideas why?

Just in case you missed - MS is using win10 user to peer to new users sharing update files. There is a setting where you can disable it - not at my pc now, but google it

Updates might be downloading in the background, for Win or any apps and software.

Also try tweaking how updates are delivered and distributed ...

Settings > Windows Update > Advanced Options > Chose how updates are delivered

Yeah I saw that peer to peer thing. Disabled that too. All updates have been "disabled" last update was 2 August.

Really love the look and feel of the new windows 10 but this data issue. Really bugging me. If only we lived in a truly uncapped world/country

Go to Start Menu -> Settings -> Network & Internet -> Data usage

Click on 'usage details' below Overview.

In the case that it is your pc then the culprit will be located in there. Let us know...

Windows now using your data to peer their sw. Unbelievable.

It's a fantastic feature. Kudos to MSFT for doing this at last. Much requested for many years by users with mutiple systems.

I have all my systems set to get updates from any other PC on the local network. THAT SAVES BANDWIDTH.

You can opt out if you wish, or set it to your preference.

Start > Settings > Update & Security > Advanced Options > Choose how updates are delivered.

That is most likely updates and any other downloads/uploads done by Windows, it may also be malicious code. 'Unwanted' driver updates may also be the cause.

Read these two articles,

Windows updates,

Disable selected updates,

https://nakedsecurity.sophos.com/20...ll-hide-or-block-unwanted-windows-10-updates/

Show or Hide Updates Tool as per the above article, https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3073930

It is hard to determine the issue without having knowledge on your system. I trust that the above two articles may assist you with resolving your issue.
