Windows 10 upgrade path and activation issues

Forgot to mention, after that eom upgrade I swapped in a new SSD and did a clean install of window 10 and it activated , Didn't need to type in a key at all.

My Lenovo has an oem key in bios, ran setup from the iso in windows 8.1 and it upgraded + activated with no drama to 10

I can also do that, but I want a clean install. If windows 10 is prepared to activate my product key through an upgrade then it should be able to do it through a clean install... Which it cannot.

Upgrade works fine, I don't want an upgrade though.

I upgraded mine last night. It seemed to have added a few programs to startup, which I have since disabled including Skype. After than it appears to start up faster for me.
I noticed tha Win10 warns you if you have many startup entries and also advise which takes most of startup time.

god knows why people like to start 10+ apps as windows starts. I literally one have two things...

I just get an error when I run that.

I hope it's not that stupid "Something happened" error. It did that with me and I just gave up, downloaded the ESD, converted it to an ISO and installed it.

Yes, that one.

And I can't run from USB drive because it does not accept my Win 7 key.

So, complete stalemate. From the idiots at Microsoft.

I "fixed" that with changing the locale to US as per some google result
