It works but my games still ask me to put the cd in
pooks does your clonEdrive disks say UDF?
I was just using it to install something off a .cue and .bin file.
I prefer to not use a virtual cd to run games and instead use other means.

Hmmm Alcohol 120% and Daemon Tools don't work.![]()
It can be a certain build of Vista...? Do you have an original copy of Vista...?![]()
what ram are you using? more than often it is faulty ram that can cause hanging etc. due to the fact that vista keeps more pre-loaded software in its ram, its more likely to pick up ram faults and freeze. try down something to run some memory checks.... could be that simple.

Do you? or is yours a pirate copy like most MS fanboys?
So your saying it is basically your bios settings messing up vista, then why is it crap? By the sounds of it you know what is messing it up but choose to call it crap instead. Sounds like your settings are useless and not vista.
What is the advantage of ahci over ide?
Also mentions the issues you find in Vista.it exposes SATA's advanced capabilities (such as hot-plugging and native command queuing)

So from the sounds of it, your mobo was a bit dodgy to me. You cannot blame with for hardware problem but anyhoo all to their own guess.
Yep... All legal... We have a volume licence agreement with Microsoft at our company, and IT personnel may use all Microsoft Software agreed upon. So I can use Windows Vista, Office 2007 Pro, Visual Studio 2008, etc. legally.
We also have a direct representative @ Microsoft. Fun working in IT for this company...
So basically you don't pay for it... like most MS fanboys.![]()
Yea so asus had a problem, then vista does not like ahci, so basically vista as whole is not the problem
Asus never had a problemVista has a problem.
The motherboard is an intel chipset so you might as well blame intel... while you're at it maybe my CPU was a problem too?.![]()
Because Vista surely can't be a piece of crap.
/me/ wonders if it will boot off the external tape drive on my Atari 800XL or Commadore...The thing with Vista and Win7 is, that it will give you crap if your machine is slow. That is why alot of people think Vista and Win7 is bad, as their machines can't handle it. When using at least 1GB of RAM, Vista will perform not too bad, but anything more than 1GB will make Vista / Win7 work like a dream... That is one way to improve your Vista / Win7 experience positively...
Still wondering if the 64kb RAM on my Atari will handle it...And back to the topic
Windows 7 is great on even older machines, runs flawless now on my aged lappie: 1.8ghz Turion, 1gig of ram and 100gig hdd.
I thought the 32kb Commadore was good until Atari 800XL arrived with 64kb RAM, then came the Atari ST series, driving 5 MIDI keyboards of one interface at live gigs, then came the IBM XT with 640k RAM and "Turbo" button and MS DOS - major improvement.Vista is a piece of crap, I thought Vista was good but I was deluding myself, I have to restart it often because it is so bloody useless yet I score 5.9 with everything...
Win7 looks promising but there is no support if something does not work since it's a beta.
/me/ moving back to DOS and Win 3.1, where the autoexec.bat and config.sys can be tweaked for better performance...Maybe try and increase the PageFile settings if it might be of any good...
Finally you understand what i am getting at![]()
