Windows 7 RC completed, build 7100
Company insiders and Wzor have confirmed that 7100 is the official Windows 7 RC build.

7100.0.winmain_win7rc.090421-1700 was compiled on Tuesday and has reportedly been handed out to OEM partners and TAP gold customers. Earlier this month we reported that build 7077 had leaked online and that Microsoft were pushing towards a 7100 RC release.

Microsoft recently published details about a public RC due for May 5th. We expect MSDN/TechNet customers to receive the bits within the next week if the company is still targeting May 5th.

According to reports, 7115.0.winmain.090421-1650 is the latest build internally at the time of writing.

so suppose its a matter of time before it goes wild, and then msdn...

If build 7115 is the latest one, why don't they just release it instead of 7100 on 5th of May?

Aah you should probably read one of those articles on the RC/RTM numbering system but simply:

They reserve build numbers for the RC and work for those builds will only be on fixing bugs to make a stable release for RC.

From 7100 onwards more potentially unstable fixes go into the builds, so 7115 is not as thoroughly tested or meant for a "stable" release.

Those build numbers aren't chronological either now that they split. 7100 and 7115 are only two or three days apart.

Is there, or can we create a thread for windows 7 issues/solutions seeing as a couple of people are running it? I already have solutions to 2 problems....

Okay, so the one to "want" is 7100? For now...

when it hits msdn, well that way rather get it via work's bandwidth :)

Checked thehotfix.net, all true and they even got it upped to rapidshare, also seen screens of it, and they have full list of trackers as well.

If anyone happens to download the RC, could that individual possibly send me a copy? I am limited (unfortunately) to a 384k line with a 3GB cap...

Microsoft have said its fake but obviously they want people to think that :p

very rarely does something like this hit the networks and stay around for so long if it is fake. Why would it be a fake? Why where the other 20 release in the last 2 weeks not fake :p.
