Windows 7 RC completed, build 7100

Unless there are hell of a lot of changes, I am sticking with this build for quite some time.

Ok laptop is up and running, works so well. Highly impressed, fast and responsive.

Ok time to format and reinstall main PC

@Linoman, Thanks again ;)

Tried installing earlier on my pc. Only wanted to accept disk01 as installation directory. Busy copying data and making backups so I can finally install it on an empty drive... Cant wait..drewl :p

I've heard rumours that the edition Microsoft will release will be different to the leaked versions. I might just wait for the official Microsoft release.

It’s been confirmed that Windows 7 Build 7100 is the official RC release.

Any feedback on Route Sentry... if it works, I will be moving over to Windws 7, from a faithfull XP that Ive been using for 20 years ;)

Just be careful about downloading the latest build from various torrents - there's a trojan embedded in the setup.exe on various sites. Read this on Mobility forum (but can't link now as posting from PDA via 3G).

Got one from mininova just scanned the setup with virustotal, seems to be virus free.

Stroebs just posted how to get RouteSentry working on Windows 7 at http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?p=2753845#post2753845

I'm running Windows 7 in Virtual PC 2007 and its quite fast on my Dell Inspiron 9400 (2GHz dualcore with Intel VT). For me the biggest improvement over vista is that you can set the UAC notification level, however its default level is still very annoying. The taskbar is looking more & more like some Linux desktop's taskbars :P

On Tuesday, May 5 (PST), the RC will be available to everyone via our Customer Preview Program. As with the Beta, the Windows 7 RC Customer Preview Program is a broad public program that offers the RC free to anyone who wants to download it. It will be available at least through June 30, 2009, with no limits on the number of downloads or product keys available.
