Windows 7 RC completed, build 7100

Here's the desktop screenshot, showing build 7100.

Completely stable. Fast. Amazingly quick boot even with several background services and drivers I installed.

I'm sold ...

Just need to get the Asus SupremeFX X-Fi onboard my rampage II extreme to work.

Onboard HD audio is fine, but does not appear the X-Fi utilities want to work at this stage on Windows 7.

Otherwise - everything is super. Oh - and had to get a free beta of Kaspersky 8 anti-virus for Windows 7 - my older version did not work at all. But - it's free - so bonus.

Things just seem so much ......... better.
 
I haven't been following this whole thing; if I get this would I download Vista drivers?
 
Just want to add that Win 7 is so a big step forward for MS from Vista.

Vista was slow and a resource hogger, thats why I still used XP. But Win 7 is so much quicker and responsive, even compared to XP.

Now I have better speed than XP with all the bells and whistles of Vista and much more. :)
 
Seeing as everyone has their copies working.... Could someone in CPT please send me a copy? Pretty please? :D

any1 in CT have a copy..iv been running build 7000 (very 1st build) its amazing! but want the RC..please..
 
Guys Im still using Windows XP, I've downloaded one of the BETA Windows 7 version and I liked it quite a bit, but deleted it after playing around... Im now considering formatting and just installing Windows 7 RC? Moving over to Windows 7 for good... Is this a good idea?

Everything worked fine the previous time around, except I couldnt test Steam (Valve games) because Windows 7 wasnt backwards compatible with Windows XP files... Is tehre any issues with running Steam Games on Windows 7? I also use Open Office, does that work on Windows 7?

Or do you think I should wait till the Final Release?

I'm also in CT and also happen to be running build 7000... I really want to get my hands on this RC! Need RC, will pay!
 
No seriously... I don't mind paying for a copy of the Beta if someone sent it to me...
 
My system is still going to have driver problems with Windows 7 sadly :(

DO things like RouteSentry work yet with Windows 7?

I dont want to move if I am going to end up having hassels...

Ill probably only move when the final comes out anyways.

I have a C-Media on board audio controller which refuses to work under Vista. Probably do the same under 7 wont it. The audio can work but the smart jack controller program Xear 3D or whatever doesn't want to load....

I think I will also wait to upgrade to Windows 7 for after June/July when I have my new system. :)
 
Presently running the original beta, if i upgrade to the latest release will i have issues (some things i cannot afford to lose and to many gigs to back up)
 
Route Sentry is an important one for me aswell... Can anyone confirm if it works under Windows 7?
