I'm a total noob regarding Windows 7 so forgive me.

If I have the RC (7100) copy of Windows 7 and it is running 100% on my laptop? Can I continue running that when the RTM is released?
Or will they force you to buy the RTM copy.

Does the RC allow updates? If it does I suspect they will not let you update it when the RTM is released. Forcing you to get the RTM copy.

I really wanna get rid of Vista.

The RC copy expires in 2010, thus you will be forced to buy the RTM version!

Thanks. I am aware that you are running it on both your laptop and your PC.
Is it really that much faster? Cause Vista is driving me crazy.
If I want to install this on my Sony Vaio. Will it install all my drivers automatically or should I download the whole driver set as a precaution?

Before I answer that, what are the specifications? Windows 7 is much faster than Vista. Also I would have all the drivers as a precaution.

Note not all drivers may be available.

Without a doubt I would install Windows 7. To be quite honest with you I never liked XP:( and Vista makes me want to throw up:sick:

On the desktop platform Windows 7 is the first that I actually like and am prepaired to use on a day to day basis. Take a chance and install build RC 7100, however remember it is not complete yet and may have bugs/errors.

Also have a complete backup of your laptop, in case you need to reinstall Vista with all its drivers again.

If you do take this route please let me know how it works out for you.

Thanks man. I reckon I am going to try it. And I will report back.
Will either download it this weekend or ask JUGGY to ship me a copy.

Would you go with x64 or x86? I am not exactly sure what the difference between them are?

No updates will done for the RC release except for big flaws/issues (ie: ID3 tag problem in the Beta) and Defender updates. This also will stop after RTM is released.

Lastly, it will very difficult to upgrade from RC to RTM, but not impossible. However this route is not recommended at all.

Hopefully I will have RC installed over the weekend as the Beta was nice surprise!

64Bit if you have more than 4GB of RAM. *I personally prefer 64bit to 32bit but that is a personal thing*

For you however install the 32bit version;)
