I got Win7 RC, but dont use it. Installed it the first day and tried to load up a game, Stalker - Clear Sky. It gave me an error saying insert the cd or something like that. So I uninstalled Win7 it and am using WinXP since then. What are the benefits of Win 7 for someone that only games and uses the net? I'd rather have one OS that works with everything even if it's a few milliseconds slower (WinXP).

I wonder how long those RC copies is going to be useful with the RTM being so close according to some sources. But yes, So many sources, so many dates... Some as early as 26/06 and all the way up to 13/07.

The copy I just handed out was labeled RETAIL - not sure how true that is.

The only reason I'm not to fussed about when RETAIL is, is because the RC version allows me till March next year to decide if I want to adopt it - free of charge.

I would not touch a "RETAIL" release that is out already, cause RETAIL releases will only start showing once Windows 7 is actually complete and being shipped in a actual RETAIL package. Retail for Win7 is quite some time away still. Assuming you mean the scene name contained the RETAIL tag and it was not just a file labeled retail that you got from someone.

Refering to the file name, just had a close look, 7201.0.090601-1516_x86fre_client_en-us_Retail_Ultimate.

I think its more like RC2.

I'm still running RC1, it works, and I'm to lazy to reinstall.

Retail version only available from Oct 22 onwards.

Just installed the 64-bit RC version, having a few problems, but it is due to 32-bit software and not windows 7's fault.

Looking for copy of Windows 7 RC 64-bit

Hi

I know that I'm slow on the uptake, but have decided that I'd like to play with Win 7 on my desktop. Is there anybody who has a copy of the mosy current RC (64-bit) that I can get?
