Windows 8.1 What do you think?

Which version of Avast did you install? When I had 8.1, Avast didn't work because of some compatibility issue.

It's going to do a clean install anyway just keeping your files, you can't do an upgrade from preview to RTM, you'll need to reinstall all your apps etc.
 
Windows 8.1 installed some time ago, got the RTM from piratebay and then just used my legal key and it activated.

Only issue I have so far is with sleep, when going to sleep the machine does not wake up. So going to wait for new drivers and updates hopefully they get it fixed. Anyone else having the same issue?

Would have been nice if they actually put the old start menu back but hey classic shell works.

Oh, that must be the newer version I was told was going to compatible with 8.1 (I had sent an E-Mail to Avast, around July or so about Avast not working [the latest at that time was 8.0.1489])

I wanted to get the Windows 7 Glassy transparency look on Windows 8.1, the theme patches did not support 8.1 at the time.

People who complain don't deserve to use win8, and should be forced by law to never upgrade their OS ever again in the history of their life :p
 
Can't wait for Windows 9 and the fanboys (see above) claiming how terrible 8 was. HA HA.
 
I want win 8.1 but unfortunately I don't have a Msdn or Technet account. Don't really want to touch the other images from those dodgy sites.

I haven't yet tried the pre-release 8.1 yet, but have been using 8.0 for a few months now. I have the same issue in failing to resume after being in 'sleep' mode

Running Windows 8.1 and no issues with resuming from 'sleep' mode.
