Hi everyone
Compliments of the new season,

I am about to upgrade my windows 7 home to windows 7 ultimate,its the 1st time I am going to upgrade and i heard various stories about upgrading...from losing drivers to wiping programs,etc,what can I expect from this upgrade? will I have to download fresh drivers or after upgrade i can start enjoying the version?

Your positive input will be highly appreciated,
 
Just type Windows Anytime Upgrade on your start menu, enter your new key and reboot.
You won't lose anything and that's all there is to it. ;)
 
I got the OS from a friend who works at varsity ICT its ready to install but not with product key which makes it difficult to use windows anytime upgrade...how do I get around it?

You don't. The DVD he gave is useless without the key. Also, with the Anytime Upgrade feature, a disk is not required. The installation files are built in.

+1, unless it's a volume license disk, which means it's been stolen from somewhere. :erm:
