Wiper blade cost

Just serviced my car.

Changing the wiper blades cost R850. Is this correct.

Honda Civic 2009 Hatch.

If i remember on my old skedonk, the cost was under R200. WTF?

Warranty does have an exclusion list... im sure wiper blades are not covered.

This is a new thing with all the car services, they tell you your wiper blades are gone, I know of 3 other people that were also told to replace the wipers. Same with mine.

I didnt let them change the wipers but now my wipers are messed up, weird coz it was fine before...

So I phoned around. Turns out all the dealers charge the same price. R417 for a single, rubber. Although one dealer said that was for the full set, not just the rubbers whereas all the other dealers said that's for rubbers.

My wipers needed replacement.

Do it's not an incredible rip off, considering I'm not paying for generics - oem parts are always more expensive.

I bought my wipers from homemark, verimark or that other one.

I cannot recall what they were called but my goodness they are awesome. Maybe someone can recall what they are called. Cost me 90 bucks plus the time it took to install and they last for 10+ years unlike that cheap rubber BS the car comes with.

Those oem parts that you pay for are probably made in China for a pittance and then packaged as originals so you're still getting ripped.

Jip I don't think I paid more then R50 a wiper at Midas.
