I stay in the Northern Suburbs, Durbanville area. ADSL works only 10% of the time due to congested dslam, 3G almost non-existant. I'm looking at a WISP as alternative. Need a stable connection for VPN access to a corporate network, download speed preferably in the 2-4Mb range.

I'm intrigued at your Telkom ADSL speeds. I consistently get results such as the one below. Have you challenged Telkom or asked them to do any testing.

Yes, jumped through all the hoops. The problem is my DSLAM - J13 on Koeberg Rd. Confirmed as congested with upgrade request in Pretoria. ETA unknown.

Sad that we can never get commitment from Telkom when we need it.
I'm pleased you found a workable alternative.
I had to move away from iBurst because I'm in a shadow area and Telkom ADSL was the only viable alternative. I hope my connection remains stable.
