Not often I get the chance to compliment someone these days, but Telkom was so damned efficient today, I just have to.

My ADSL is dodge, so I phoned Telkom, filled with dread.
What a lekker surprise. No 3rd degree (it's your ISP nonsense etc), and no long wait.

Entire call was under 5 mins, including navigation of the system. At the end, a SMS was sent to me with my reference number, as well.

I also see that Telkom now allows your ISP to log a service request on your behalf.

So, all in all, well done to Telkom.


EDIT: If someone from Telkom is reading this, operator "Angelo" was very efficient.
 
And an operator called Angelo was promptly fired

EDIT : Think I also spoke to an Angelo at telkom before who was very helpful, but this was 3 in the morning, so he could have said he's name was susie and would not have known the difference, but I am pretty sure it was Angelo
 
I must also admit to being very pleasantly surprised with my recent dealings with Telkom support.
 
Good lord!

Got an SMS at 8:45 saying problem is resolved.
And it is!!

ADSL working 100% again.

Well done, Telkom.
 
I also got pretty good service yesterday. Got in the queue, and then chose to have them call back. I think they tried to call back once, but then I missed it. Thought they would never try again, but they did call back again. I didn't catch the lady's name, but she was very knowledgeable and thorough. Sorted me out in no time. Turned out to be a problem with my router.
 
I got my line installed within a week of ordering it, it was ordered through Web Africa but still, I was expecting to wait at least 3 weeks. Telkom seem to be pulling up their socks a bit and although it seems unbelievable, stranger things have happened.
 
Some guys have all the luck, I phoned them on Tuesday, to report a fault on one of our lines, I held for an hour and the call lasted, wait I wrote it down, 01:12 as in one hour and 12 mins. The guy just recreated the service or something and it worked,

1) why did it just fail, it just went down couldn't establish a connection but the line was syncing.

2) It took like 10min to fix out of the 1hour call! They really need to do something about that.

I thought that it was going to be better, but damn listening to that darned pan pipes music is driving me insane one hour call at a time!!!
 
unfortunately , for every one happy customer , telkom kills 30 kittens and breaks 100 other clients lins/adsl/whatever.
