WoW with new uncapped offerings

1000 ms? Well that's no good. Looks like I'll have to get a 1gb unshaped saix prepaid to use in conjunction with the uncapped.
 
I tested it this afternoon had about 298ms-360ms to dunemaul, to ravenholdt i had roughly 390-460ms. Will test later tonight again for "unshaped"

IS,MWEB they all go through seacom, im not entirely sure of the range. But if you check the WA accounts they are almost identical minus a few nodes. So i think we will most likely have the same pings as with WA accounts, except just with a bit of higher congestion.

Conack: I agree i was wrong, but i will still disagree about the unshaped after hours. Perhaps less throttled, but unshaped. Not a chance, also explain to me how a reseller of accounts have access to change QoSing on the routers. I would love to know that.

It's now 8:40PM and I have around 330ms which isn't bad. Used to get 260 and lower on normal Shaped Axxess account :p

THis is Uncapped though and fair enough :D
 
Couldn't play at all with my AFrihost uncapped account last night, latency was just spiking and I kept dc'ing even with ICC25 thrash. Changed over to WebAfrica shaped prepaid and it was great. I guess since no one is using them anymore I have their whole network to myself lol
 
Last night latency was about 290-450-500-360-290-350, my gf told me so, but i was also downloading at 200KB on my laptop
 
Mweb Uncapped 384K playing on a WoW server in Sweden (I know, crap for ping).
In 25 man raids with Vent active, get about 350-600ms, normally staying in the 500s.
Doesn't "feel" laggy, in fact this is better than Axxess semi shaped 384 :O
I hope it stays like this, lets see how bad the network degrades (if it does, it still feels strong!)

Can't wait for the line speeds to get bumped up (if the rumor is true) for 384!

It's all from the same provider...in this case IS (Internet Solutions). Pings will be the same
 
Tonight my latencies were 600+ and all the way to 1000+...in ICC 25man...as an Arcane Mage. Didn't work for me. And gamemax didn't help either as it DC's everytime. Gamemax is kinda pointless to have if you ask me. DC's way to easily.

tonights raid felt like I was back on Gamemax just a litgtle fart of AoE close to me and I DC'ed

Seems like Afrihost if going down in a blase cos I had the problems whit speed of the unshaped the people copmplained about\

just a pitty I am on a 5g unshaped account
 
SAOL ALL-in-one uncapped

For the last 3 evening I had a terrible time with the SAOL All-in-one uncapped account. It's supposedly unshaped and it was working wonderfully the 1st few days I had it.

It has steadily degraded to the point where it was unplayable in ICC 25 tonight. The latency just randomly drops as low as 400 in game and then suddenly shoots all the way to 1.3k in game.

I kept getting DC'd so I eventually just called it and came here to bitch. :o

I am extremely disappointed in the SAOL offering as it seem that it has become useless for online gaming after hours.

Seems I will have to start searching for a different offering again.

I am not really in the mood to start watching caps again, reconfiguring my router and change ISP accounts every time I wanna play a game anymore.

Lots of folks in our ICC25 raid tonight had some initial latency issues (self included on afrihost) but it went down to ~400 over time (others on uncapped down to ~260ms). Considering it's the last day of the month and the first month of Uncapped in SA i really thought we might have to call the raid - but Afrihost pulled through :love:
 
I've just started using my OpenWeb 4mb uncapped account and I couldnt stay connected in an empty ThunderBluff. I almost never dc with my normal telkom shaped account.

I was replaced in ICC25 due to me not being able to manage my mana (Arcane mage with high latency is a bitch). That was around 10PM. Got back to Dalaran and latencies started dropping. So...was kinda pissed off :p
 
If you all reply to the thread here please - as a favor - out the isp / speed you have in each reply i have to reread the whole thread everytime.
I will test myself soon as possible and report on AH 4mb
 
Seeing that MWEB has their own link internationally, can someone with MWEB uncapped please say what they're getting in latency and at what times? :)

Currently I don't feel like Afrihost's uncapped (over IS) is all it supposed to be. Last night I had to quit a raid group due to my latency that was over 600ms and at times peaking 1000ms which is not playable. And this was well after 19:00 when shaping shouldn't really be an issue :(

I'm on a 4096k package.
 
Cancelled my Uncapped. Back with Webafrica.

The new shaping policies are a bit extreme if you hit 30GB...
