Wynberg (Cape Town) ADSL problems

I am on the same exchange, get the same problems. I've spoken to TelkomZA on these forums and he's told me that the exchange is congested, so we apparently have to wait for Telkom to upgrade the exchange (according to him, they are aware of it and are planning to do so, but he couldn't give me a date).

Damn that is ****e.:mad::mad:

I may as well just cancel and wait for the them to sort the issue out.

When i contacted them the woman that helped me told that my exchange is not congested but the main exchange that I we are connected is the problem.

They were gonna try to move me to another exchange but it all just sounds like BS just to give them more time to figure out what the problem is. I am suppose to be getting a call from a technician in the field to confirm if the speeds I am getting is the speeds I will have to live with.
 
Well, I have an 021-761XXXX number and about 3 weeks ago it stopped from about 09h00 to 17h00 for about 4 days. I asked Openweb to give me a new account and since then it has been perfect

That is in Plumstead. I believe I am connected to an exchange in Castor Road in Lansdowne, 6km away

Broadband Stats is wrong in this case. ;)

Definitely not Lansdowne. I would say it's behind Maynard Mall. Which isn't shown on the above site.
 
My account is with Telkom and I have been calling almost since I had the install. I have been getting the normal runaround and excuses from one department to the next.


Anyone know what the solution to my problem maybe? Anything that I can insist on etc

here is my ref 508CWK240114 . apparently wynberg exchange is congested. no turn around time on when this is being fixed. being dealing with congestion for about 6/7 months now. going to phone again later for update.
 
I stay in Lansdowne and according to broadbandstats I'm connected to the WYNBERG UMC B40B1 (WWG+) Exchange. Since the 19th I'm experiencing a severe increase in ping. Usually it's around 28, Now its above 350. Download speeds are usually around 1.8mb (I've got a 2MB Uncapped subscription with Afrihost and Line rental through Telkom), Now its no more than 0.50mb if I'm lucky. I've reported the fault on the 22nd of Jan, called them every single day since then to monitor the status. Yesterday I was told that a Telkom technician would call me by this morning, yet nobody has gotten back to me. Feel like I'm being left out in the dark over here and all I want is my old internet back.

I'm from plumstead and also on the WYNBERG UMC B40B1 (WWG+) Exchange. Its been so crappy at night! Cant load google search's without having to reload the page. Cant stream anything and ping is shocking in general. Any way to avoid this? Is it a Telkom thing or the exchange point?

Its frustrating paying for a 4mb line but only getting 386kbps speed!!! And i'm a gamer :(

yip, this crappy speeds is killing my online gaming time... Whats the point of a 4meg line then if it runs line dialup.
its been like this for the past 2 weeks now.

net drops out normally form 6pm to 11pm EVERY bloody evening in the week and whenever telkom feel like it on a weekend

ADSL load shedding ??? WTF am I missing here ... 3rd world service from telkom !!!!
What am I paying for ???????
