Xbox One in trouble.

It's still inferior in terms of hardware, while costing more.
Different, not inferior. More memory bandwidth sounds cool, but it's not everything. I like the idea of the Kinect, whether it's actually useful or not. I like that MS has an established cloud service, again whether it's actually useful or not - one clear case of benefit is that no game servers will need to be retired, as they're all virtual. I prefer software done by a software company. I also prefer the controller layout.

I'm disappointed with their reversal. I truly believe in an all-digital future and this has set those plans back a decade.

There's nothing stopping them from introducing a digital platform. Or Sony for that matter. The problem is that MS removed the choice from the consumer. I'm sure you'll get your ability to share games with your non-real-life-xbl-friends at some point.

Not just that. The PS4's graphics card has 50% more shaders. So definitely inferior. No questions asked.

More shaders are also not everything (but yes, it will likely improve graphical fidelity). The XBO is designed to do low latency processing, while Sony is going all in with bandwidth (and the high latency that comes with it). PS4 is likely to win in third-party stakes, but when it comes to first party I expect XBO to have better AI, physics and so on. Not completely unlike a reversed situation of today.

Why in the world would you think that? As far as we know both CPUs are the same.

My bet is the PS4 still outsells the xbone. It's cheaper and for many people Microsoft has really screwed the pooch.

Donno hey?

PS3 clearly showed what they capable of as well.

PS network being hacked and was down some time in the past (Uptime issues)
PS3 update yesterday that turned consoles into bricks and so on.

Simply put both have their issues.

ok xbox one won me over again , was going to buy ps4 , but no more DRM on xbox one , so will get that.

Specs is lesser , but better games for me.

I need forza 5!!

Yeah, so M$ backtracked on their always on internet thingy and game sharing - which they could've done from the start. Just shows you there is no real purpose for the pone home crap.

And at it's core M$ still wants this DRM and online stuff, so nothing stops the game makers from still enforcing this DRM and phone home stuff.

Do. Not. Trust.

I am also going back to XBO now.
If anything, history has taught me the XBox is the better experience. I had 2 x PS3's and sold them both as my XBox got used more and PS3 pretty much never.
Main game changer for me was XBox controller is better and XBL network so much better than PSN. Found the PSN to often be laggy, and considering 99% of my game time is online multiplayer this swung my vote to XBox.

Well now at least the Xbox is in the running, but they are still asking you to pay $100 more for the weaker console just because of Kinect.

Same counts for sony no?

True. But at $100 less, not forcing Kinect on you and having not shown intent to use DRM they are the lesser risk.

Probably better to wait till mid next year to see how this plays out.

You never know about the DRM hey...for all you know it was on the table. In any case:

Probably better to wait till mid next year to see how this plays out.

This is probably the best choice.

Good move Microsoft, now we have competition again... Now drop the standard Kinect, sell the console for a similar price as the PS4 and you have just put yourself back into the game...
