1TB S will be around R7999 which still a good deal for the extra storage.

I will say i was impressed with how well the S scales on a 4K tv from it's 1080-1440p native output. You'll need keen eyes to notice a difference if they are not side by side and you're right up against the screen.

But upscaling just can't match native 2160p output.

Most of your games will be 60fps and both consoles support 120fps games just fine.

I personally play on a gaming monitor. Most 4k tvs feel sluggish to me in regards to motion handling and input latency. I am looking into getting a OLED but then i might have to give up my desk gaming.

But if you have the budget and a 4k tv then the X is still the better buy. It has the storage, disc drive and extra horses. The 1TB S just makes the decision a little harder for some folks.

I suspect the plan is not to kill the loophole but kill Games for gold. Cause man the recent selection is beyond crap :D

On a serious note, suspect after the Acti-Blizz sale completes we will see that whole closed big time cause man the COd kiddies gonna abuse that sht big time.

Don't think they will anytime soon, it's driving huge uptake in GP. It will probably end when they do away with Gold altogether. And that'll probably happen when the market starts getting saturated, and those who have a taste of GP are willing to pay full price.

Same tactic used by drug dealers to give you your first few hits for cheap to get you hooked. Once there's enough demand to overtake your competitor, revert to normal pricing...

Also the Series S games are actually up to 30% smaller then the X versions, so that 1TB on the S would go further

I was actually happy with the S visually. Besides was an upgrade for me coming from a Gaming PC with Nvidia 1050.

My only gripe was the limited drive space (370Gig) and Selling the S and buying an X was cheaper option for more space.

BUT

Once I switched to X I could not go back.
 
Series S is already struggling sub 1080p in certain games and Unreal Engine 5 stuff like Hellblade 2 hasn't even arrived. If you're keeping this console for years rather spend the extra money on the Series X.

And you don't need a 120Hz tv to enjoy a Series X, I've got a 60Hz 4K TV and it's fine. Actually more than fine since 30-60fps is what the vast majority of games are using even with unintensive indie titles.

I hope it's not just Skyrim in space like they say it is. Tried Skyrim and it really wasn't my cup of tea. The RPG mechanics were really dumbed down compared to anything from Bioware or Blizzard...

I mean I've only played Mass Effect and it's RPG mechanics are the dumbest down I've ever seen :-P. What broke it for me on Skyrim was the bugs, the constant bugs.

Played Skyrim from day 1 on PC and I must confess I don't remember any bugs. Some slow down - but then again I had a PC well below minimum specs at the time. (I was desperate!! :laugh: )
But apparently Fallout 76 was bad wrt bugs. Never played it.

Sadly I hit a lot, missing item quests was the big one

Mass Effect evolved more towards action than RPG, the first game had the RPG stuff bedded down but the combat mechanics were off. But if you look at something like Dragon Age, it was done properly - just the level cap was too low and there wasn't any endgame content...
