Suspect it’s a stock clearance price that since nobody else seems to have stock at present.

When I bought the Starlink one a few weeks ago it was only a few hundred rand difference between all resellers.

Game4U had it on sale for R1999 last week. Was this close to hitting buy but opted to wait for next month and get Starfield's

ja I want to know the answer to this question as well. Left Bumper button has broken again on a second controller....would really prefer a solid fix than needing to buy another one!

So I the guy I initially spoke about here called me and said he is working from home today, took the controller to him.
End result, R700 later - working controller - he showed me pics of the inside of the controller, rubbers were broken, things where worn to hell - so ultimately, if I just spent a bit more I could've bought a new new controller, but I had it repaired and it's working fine.

As someone who has tried to take the shortcut...don't bother buying the wheel unless you are going to do the full effort of a racing seat or have a very very solid desk you plan to mount it on.

It simply does not work with a lap desk or anything that isn't rock solid.

It simply does not work with a lap desk or anything that isn't rock solid.

Depends on the issue, do you want to sit and solder the bumper buttons? Or the D-Pad? I've taken a few controllers apart myself, but for those intricate soldering, I'll take it to a guy who has the microscope and the soldering iron to do it with.

That is the bumper switch, those are about 30 bucks to replace but they are soldered on to the back. For the analogues when they start to drift it's normally the 3d sensor that is packed in, also about 30 bucks. Can replace the whole analogue for 60 bucks.
Excuse the dust this is an old Xbox One controller that's been sitting on my desk with a broken LB for about 6 months.

If you'd seen my sons controller the other day . I took it apart and gave everything a clean, vacuum + soaked things. Electrical contact cleaner, isoproypol alcohol, disinfectant for other things. 11 years will eat and play, that all ends up in the controller.

I am going to invest in a Logitech steering wheel with force feedback and a play seat at a later stage.

I just wanted something to get used to in the mean time as I have used a steering wheel before and found it incredibly difficult to use.

I managed to get it this morning and so far so good.

Got it connected to my upstairs Xbox as there is an office table there.

Do far no regrets with this cheaper option to start with.
