Got one of those el-chepo Ferrari Thrustmasters in my office as well.

Much easier to take Xbox to the office than try and use a wheel in the lounge esp seeing that mine also have em paddles for the floor.

Could you kindly share your experience with your Thrustmaster wheel + pedal combo? I'm looking to get a Thrustmaster T248 in the future.

I have one of those Spider jobbies with the red pads, so nowhere near the T248 range. Bought mine on Special for about R2.5K back in 2020

I have no complaints, its very light compared to the VX set I used on PS. Steering is ok not 1 for 1 and doesn't have 360 range more like 250? or something around there. Spring loaded so no force feedback.
The pedals are made from plastic and do their job. Mostly used for WRC & Dirt.

Note: I'm a casual player so use a casual's tools. :D

Nee wat mine are very well trained.

In fact I get kakked out when I had a bit of a piss up night and left them greasy…apparently.

Yeah as long as it’s a solid table or desk it’s good.

Just mustn’t be something that moves easily with the wheel, which is why a lap desk thing just doesn’t work.

ok. A bit more is double that though if you want an original XBOX controller. I guess the question is how long until it breaks again :/ Really frustrating. I hope it lasts you a long time!

Sadly mine isn't :-) though he has gotten a lot better and he's far far better then others. The broken one I took pictures of was actually from a friends 11 year olds remote, this one when I got it had drift on both analogues, the vibration motors didn't work the rb button didn't work, the d-pad didn't work, the analogue sticks were eaten.
The vibration motors aren't going to work on it right now either as when taking it apart the cables caught on the chassis and pulled off :-( stupidly thin solder on those.

I bought the standard black, with 2 back buttons (set to A, B) , and digital triggers (think mouse click). No other mods.

The controller is $152 (R2919)
The shipping was $27 (R518)
The import duties by Fedex hit me for another R460.

So all in all, I am about R3900 in.

The thing came out of the box (received this Tuesday) with very slight stick drift on the right thumbstick. Even with small deadzone (I tested in Apex Legends) it is fixed, but it is obviously for the price I paid, I would prefer to have it 100%, not 99%.

So, now I have to ship this thing back for replacement, or if I ask for a refund pay for shipping (~R500) and potential handling fee.

So, if there is anyone out there that want to take this off my hands, make me a fair price. You pay for the shipping (from Centurion area). I'm willing to take a big knock here (maybe R2500 or so ex shipping). Otherwise I'm sending this back next week and rolling the dice.

I know what you mean, you can't browse any of the gaming sites or visit any of the gaming forums.
Also, you need to stay away from Discord, YouTube, Reddit, Facebook and X (the app formerly known as Twitter).

Made a small booboo re the feet (Print under Perspex) but overall I am cool with it:
