Mikami was the director of Resident Evil. The guy has been around forever. Most gamers know his name. As for him wanting to retire its literally in his wiki. It was not a secret. The guy mentioned it in interviews.

Question for you. What's the yen/dollar exchange rate? No no I'm just asking because you know, that's what Microsoft paid them in.

The studio was not losing them money. Spencer and Booty praised them openly.

Funny thing you ask for financials actually because it leaked right at the back end of the FTC approval and is all over the internet. Whether Hi-Fi Rush is mentioned in there I do not know.

No, I'm not asking for their financials in the slightest... I'm saying that there is more than what you see in the public domain in terms of how these decisions are made whether we like them or not.

Oh for sure yeah I get you.

Last word I got from the GAF thread is that Microsoft asked Zenimax to cut loose and Zenimax named Arkane and Tango because they were in the pitching process and their other devs were already busy with projects.

It'll probably be a week or so before the full story comes out.

In a recent interview with Bloomberg, Sarah Bond reiterates that every Xbox first party game will release day one on game pass.

And the quality and the breadth of those games has only been going up over time. And you’re going to see some more really big games going into Game Pass later this year.”

Dina: “From Activision’s portfolio or?”

Sarah: “Across the whole slate, across the whole slate, you’re going to see some really amazing things. And keeping that as something that is really special for Xbox players is central to us.”

Really hope I'm smoking something but can't help but feel that Ninja Theory and even Obsidian could be on the chopping block next if Hell Blade and Avowed doesn't bring in the numbers, then again Tango with Hi Fi rush did and they still got closed down.

Times have changed, people are not easily switching consoles for a few exclusives imo. Switch is a bit different because a lot of PS/XB owners have a Switch as their secondary, but a very small amount will have both a PS and XB...

Which is also why I suspect a hefty price increase coming up soon...
They simply wont be able to afford to offer CoD for free on GP as well as all other upcoming day one releases... it's simply not profitable enough. Especially as we now know GP is not resulting in increased console sales...

Personally I think MS should go ahead with the price increase for GP Ultimate ...and offer CoD and day one releases for those interested ...but make them pay substantially more. Then add another mid tier GP category... Gamepass Mid or some cool name... and continue with the current pricing for those that don't want the increase.
This mid tier can then offer some older CoD titles and perhaps limited new releases...after a period of let's say six months or so.

They have no choice, they committed to day one releases for first party games. Which CoD now is.

I suspect they will probably charge for season passes, cosmetics etc. - that's where the real CoD money is...

Yep, that is why they gave Halo MP away for free to anyone, they make money on the other stuff.

Easy fix

Make CoD SP free on GP but MP a Paid for DLC .... sorted

Keep promise of Day 1 drops & dont lose $$ on Cod

my 3 year game pass comes to an end

IIRC, you don't need a sub any more to play online f2p games.

Free 2 Play games are free like Warzone, Fortnite, Paladins, Rocket League etc

I think the old xbox live sub is basically obsolete as it's now called Game Pass Core and costs R79 where Game Pass Console costs R85.
