I just folded and started downloading even though I was planning to still finish the second game.
Not exactly, but I see where you coming from with what you saying. I think it's similar but with the Doom "flavour" if that's make sense, not the crazy bullet storm style. But there is one action that's exactly the same, won't spoil it.
Man that brought some good ol memories and laughs playing Bullet storm.
Finished the 2nd (Doom Eternal) but not Doom 2016, and I think I prefer this one's mechanics over Eternal already which was fast paced run and gun, fast traverse etc.

I loved 2016 again but didn’t quite gel with Eternal and then stopped somewhere hardcore and came back months later and just couldn’t get back into it at the shitshow level I stopped playing.
Restarted a few weeks ago but too many games and distractions so I reckoned **** it just going to start the new game tonight since my whole family is sick and I have the time to myself.

I enjoyed the second one quite a bit. Just didn’t finish the DLC.

Sitting on God of War 2, Zelda Breath of the Wild, Indiana Jones and plenty others I can’t recall now.
End up enjoying the short burst one shots far more especially with the kids like VR games or Duck Game and Stick Fight and other silly stuff like that.
Last game I remember finishing was Hellblade 2.

Same here. The last games I actually finished was the Gears series (co-op), both Ori’s (solo) and God of War - Diablo IV campaign doesn’t count even though I ‘finished’ that.
I much prefer playing co-op with a mate - currently taking him through D3 (he’s never played ARPG) and having a blast.
Thank fxck for Gamepass - if I had to pay full price for all these games that I never finish I’d be so p!ssed off at myself

Played the first chapter now and loved it.
A bit heavy on the stick clicking, might need to pull out my Elite and map that onto the paddles.
Absolutely love it when you jump and smash into the ground and they go scatterings. Very satisfying, reminds me of God of War when you use the axe and pull it back to kill them again.
Soundtrack is magic, I feel like there’s an element of it being dynamic depending on what you are doing but maybe it’s my imagination.
Sound in and of itself is also great, had to pull the headset out which I rarely do these days.
I was worried the countering and stuff would be annoying but it’s just enough to flow onto it easily.
Granted I’m playing it on easy from the word go because I know I’ll just get frustrated otherwise and then put it down and never return.
I'm on Ultra Violence, but did change some of the assist settings like parry window, damage I left the same but did tweak to get more resources (ammo,health).
And it feels easy as well.
But still earlish in the game so maybe it ramps up later

I knew there was something I was forgetting. Still want to try South of Midnight.
I enjoyed it, not too long, great platforming and not too difficult combat.
Story and music is also excellent.

Thing is Metaphor and Stalker 2 is going to GamePass standard, a few weeks ago I'm almost certain I saw Starfield also going to standard.
If you not a day 1 kinda gamer standard is starting to offer some good value of late.
FFS still busy with Doom Dark Ages and still need to to get to Expedition 33!!! And now GamePass throws Metaphor at me!!

Thank goodness for Doom - sometimes it feels like they slap shovelware on Gamepass. I will try Zau though.More games added to May GamePass

Stalker 2 is right there!
I think that's the nature of any subscription service really, expecting to have AAA bangers in GamePass all the time is unrealistic IMHO.Also whats not to your and my liking might be for someone else.
