This has always been the case and the Xbox right now is running on Windows.

But it's not a "PC" in that there is firstly no access to the desktop layer but more importantly it doesn't exist.

And that's what the next console needs to be...it needs to open up in that anything can run on it...but it needs to keep that desktop layer at bay.

Still WIndows CE, its like saying you running Windows that could include 95, ME 2000, 7-11 or XP
I think they call it Windows IoT now.

Edit: Regardless, Current Xbox is not using that, its using pure Windows 11 Kernel already so Helix not that big a change.

Think the flaws of Windows 11 is generally agreed on, and kind of out of scope of the topic here.

But otherwise, a fat lot of games (PC, Xbox, PS5) are developed on PC. I don't see how this is a bad thing.

Anybody grabbed Back4Blood Deluxe Edition (Game plus all DLC) for R180.00 on the xbox store, or if you have the game, please drop a post. Looking for some players to run with.

Was great fun when it was on gamepass, so keen to play through with dlc.
 
Almost had a heart attack this morning

Turn on the Series S and there's a green tint to the display that is flickering. I see there has just been an update so suspect something went funky happened.

But do the usual troubleshooting with rebooting, unplugging etc. Then I decide to swop the HDMI cables between the Xbox and Switch 2....oh oh, the Switch is now green and flickering!

Unplug the TV reconnect the HDMI cables (incorrectly, just because). And now both are working just as God intended.

Almost a ruined Saturday
