The pink labels show the games I didn't complete. Of the 16 games I played in 2021, I didn't finish 3. Didn't like DOOM Eternal so I'm really glad I could try it without buying it. Crusader Kings 3 I played on PC but didn't like it as much as I thought I would. And then I didn't finish Observation because although the premise is interesting, the gameplay itself is really sucky.

And the trophy stuff wasn't me. That was someone else who posted that. I don't go after achievements at all. I play games because I enjoy them. Like Outriders. Man I loved it. Did all the side quests and everything but the endgame isn't my kind of thing. So I finished the main campaign, tried some of the endgame content and then moved on.

Desperados 3. Loved that too. Has an Overwhelmingly Positive score on Steam. Can easily recommend it.

And those are just two of my 3 last games played.

16

I'm on 3 for the year. Blood and Wine spilled over from last year, and I still need to finish XCom 2: WotC and Valheim.

It's safe to say MS aren't bleeding money to keep GP going. 23 million current subs. It grew by 5 million in 4 months.

This amount will hit 30 million by end of the year when more exclusive games like Halo Infinite and Starfield gets announced/ launches. Just to name a few.

More subs = more money = better games/more day one AAA games = more subs = more money = more studios.

I'm not at all surprised that it's grown so big. But how fast it's grown.

For my splinter friend who has surfaced here again, I have tried playing many games with gamepass. I have thoroughly enjoyed and finished 13 on my Xbox, and another 3 on PC. The cost comes in at around R50 a month if you do the gamepass trick. So all in all, game pass from Dec to present: R200. Games I've finished on Xbox:

Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order
Tetris Connected
Call of the Sea
Gears of war 4
Man of Medan
Hotshot Racing
Gears 5
Star Wars Squadrons
Doom Eternal
The Medium
Frostpunk
Dirt 5
Control

Apart from those, I have tried many games. I've found some I don't like, and some I am going to spend a bit more time in before giving up on them.

The games I finished on PC:

* Both Ori games
* A Plague Tale: Innocence

I have bought one game at R167 (the last campfire).

Gamepass has certainly worked out for me, considering the one small game I bought almost covers the cost of the other 16 I've played.

How do you finish 13 games plus more in such a limited time? Either you don't have a job, or you just rush through a game not exploring all of it?

Edit: I've got a shyteload of games via PSN plus in my library that I haven't even tried.

Having said that, once again I agree that GP is awesome value. I just prefer playing better games.

As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

Get a 1 month GP for your PC and play "Ori and the Will of the Wisps" - it's a fantastic game that is unfortunately not available on Playstation.

You can use your PS5 controller on the PC without any issues.

Thanks, but I am really, really not into platformers and jumping stuff.

I don't know why, but I truly dislike (hate) any game that requires a lot of this kind of thing.

Maybe because I suck at it; but this goes for any such game on any platform.

Started Assassin's Creed Valhalla last night. Just love the AC games.

I tried out both Quality and Performance modes and wow Performance feels 10 times better. I wonder if anyone plays with Quality mode.

On Rise of the Tomb Raider I flicked between performance, High Quality and 4k modes just to see the differences, I ended up on performance as the slight drop in visual quality wasn't that much. Though High Quality did look really good.

Quality kinda gets lost to me sitting 2+ meters away from TV. I do notice frame drops and tearing at that distance so also normally opt for quantity of frames over quality of frames.

When up close and personal like on PC games at the desk quality tends to matter as well, but that is why gaming PC's tend to be beasts. Sadly AC not coming to Steam (Epic exclusive)* so will play on console.

But will/can wait till GOTY edition or proper sale on Ultimate Edition before I buy AC Valhalla.

Well DF have shown some games that drop frames in quality mode on Series X so its not like it doesn't happen.

I'm just saying I prefer high frame count over high quality when a choice needs to be made.

Been playing Original Assassins Creed on the PS3. Having recently finished Odyssey on Xbox, thinking I start from 1 till date.

At 1st I was hmmm this is not bad, I can see how tech progressed but the core FX essence was there and playable. In fact I enjoyed the trip down memory lane. On Thursday I got gifted a copy of AC Valhalla from a fellow forum member. (Thank you, again). So I started to install it on Friday.

Was still playing Original AC on Saturday while my Xbox was finishing Valhalla's install.

Saturday night while eating got some big screen time and saw Valhalla was installed and thought I would just check it out and see how it looks.

All I can say is HOLY S1HT!!!
That game looks amazing, you can clearly see we jumped into "Next Gen" and this is only the start of the generation. Even on a Series S Up-scaled to 4K it blows Odyssey and Origin out the water, I can only dream what games will look like 2-3 years from now.

Side note: It broke Original AC's atmosphere... now the old game looks like crap :(
Might also be cause I have to play PS3 on 42"

I miss the days when Assassin's Creed was about rooftop jumping and assassinating templars.
