A question - you pay about R150 a month for GP?

Then you have played 16 games. How many did you finish? How many did you enjoy?

Yes, I'm being a PS fan boy here, but I have never been one to try a huge amount of games and not enjoy them to the end. Honestly, just select a few awesome games and enjoy them
Even at R150 a month and him trying 16 games, he's paid R750 in the 5 months of the consoles release, that's 65% of 1 PS5 game. So he's paid 46 bucks a game, even if he didn't enjoy all of them. In that same time period you'd have played one maybe 2 PS5 games at almost 3 times the price.

Because it's glorious and a thing of beauty.

But you can go back to being ignored now. Just initially looked to see what you replied to my post.

But you never answered my question as to if you completed these games or not.

But, inferring from the trophies thing, it seems you are more concerned with garnering trophies quickly than really enjoying a game. In that case, I'm sure GP suits you.

But I would have had 5 times the enjoyment.

And I actually have about 20 games (most probably more; not interested in a numbers contest) in my library that I haven't even touched yet.

You can’t really argue with the value.
It’s R150 for Ultimate which is Xbox + PC, you’re also getting discounts on games you might want to buy to own.

I’m excluding the streaming factor as it’s not officially here, but I login in and play without waiting.

Never been arguing about the value. It's like buying a 6-pack of socks. But your GF actually wanted fish-net stockings so she could rock your world.

The pink labels show the games I didn't complete. Of the 16 games I played in 2021, I didn't finish 3. Didn't like DOOM Eternal so I'm really glad I could try it without buying it. Crusader Kings 3 I played on PC but didn't like it as much as I thought I would. And then I didn't finish Observation because although the premise is interesting, the gameplay itself is really sucky.

And the trophy stuff wasn't me. That was someone else who posted that. I don't go after achievements at all. I play games because I enjoy them. Like Outriders. Man I loved it. Did all the side quests and everything but the endgame isn't my kind of thing. So I finished the main campaign, tried some of the endgame content and then moved on.

Desperados 3. Loved that too. Has an Overwhelmingly Positive score on Steam. Can easily recommend it.

And those are just two of my 3 last games played.

Ok cool. Like I said, I am not going to click on that. But honestly, I'm happy you are enjoying your games. My apologies for misstating what you said.

For my splinter friend who has surfaced here again, I have tried playing many games with gamepass. I have thoroughly enjoyed and finished 13 on my Xbox, and another 3 on PC. The cost comes in at around R50 a month if you do the gamepass trick. So all in all, game pass from Dec to present: R200. Games I've finished on Xbox:

Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order
Tetris Connected
Call of the Sea
Gears of war 4
Man of Medan
Hotshot Racing
Gears 5
Star Wars Squadrons
Doom Eternal
The Medium
Frostpunk
Dirt 5
Control

Apart from those, I have tried many games. I've found some I don't like, and some I am going to spend a bit more time in before giving up on them.

The games I finished on PC:

* Both Ori games
* A Plague Tale: Innocence

I have bought one game at R167 (the last campfire).

Gamepass has certainly worked out for me, considering the one small game I bought almost covers the cost of the other 16 I've played.

Well can basically say I haven't paid for GamePass, as I just paid for 3 years of Xbox Gold Live (3 x R650) ... and got GamePass Ultimate for free.

In the 5 Months I had "Xbox Live", I got about 5 games free as in to keep and about 15 others that is "free to play" as long as I am subbed.

Games I finished on GamePass Console: Ori, Control, Medium, Jedi Fallen Order, Squadrons, Dirt 5 and Burnout Paradise
Games Installed but still need to get to: Skyrim, Shadow of Mordor ,Torchlight 3, Darksiders Genesis and Froza Horizon
Games I still need to get to: Outriders, Outer worlds, Gears of War entire series.... Frankly there is to many to list.
Games I finished GamePass For PC: Prey, Entire Halo Series. Busy with Wolfenstein Youngblood's.

What I haven't even touched is the games my Wife plays on Xbox set as home console, like Zuma, Tetris, For the Kings and who knows what else.

Have I bought games on top of that? Hell yes but that is cause of GamePass/Live discounts. I have yet to pay full price for a game.

The real question is actually, when the 3 years passed and I actually need to start paying for GamePass Ultimate or GamePass PC or GamePass Xbox, will I?

Answer: If quality and quantity is the same as now then the R150 p/m is a no brainer. If quality goes down then no, but that is the beauty I can always cancel the moment the value is not there anymore.

I've got GamePass Ultimate and I'm loving it. R149 per month is nothing for the value it delivers. I've probably poured more than 100 hours into UFC3 so far, which has a pretty active playerbase to compete against. I've been spending some time in Outriders every night and really enjoying that as well. I've discovered indie games like Lonely Mountains: Downhill that I have seriously enjoyed! There are others that I'm playing as well but honestly there is just too much to play - I don't have enough time to get through it all!

As it stands I have not bought any new PC or Console games since getting the Game Pass a couple months ago, and the first couple of months are practically free anyway. The value for me is undeniable. Im a huge fan and I reckon I've saved money so far by having GPU.

Ooh thanx to that article I found another game to add to my watchlist

Very playable demo (for PC) available on Steam

Very smooth gameplay and enjoyed playing it with Xbox controller.

Plays like a Starcraft/Diablo mashup - more Starcraft than Diablo though - in fact, it reminds me of Warcraft 3 except that you're only controlling your Hero character with a base to build and defend.

Okay so this weekend I played some Minecraft on the Series X with my son, compared to the One or the S where it can take quite awhile to load, Minecraft is in quite quickly.
