All the complaints I've seen on Reddit was from people buying Gold keys from dogey sites.

https://old.reddit.com/r/XboxSeriesX/ would light up like an Xmas tree if they started kicking people. They where the 1st ones that found the trick.

Paid R119 for the first month as I'd already taken advantage of the low sign-up fee last year.

Good. The last gen consoles are going to hugely hold back gaming if publishers insist on releasing new stuff on PS4 and Xbone. Ultra fast storage and not-bad CPU power has significant implications for game design. I want to see the sort of creativity that devs were frothing at the mouth about when the current gen consoles were first unveiled.

500gb is not enough

i have a 2tb one that works on the XB1

is there a cheap version that works on the series s

or is there games that can work from that HDD on the S ?

2TB External on Series S for my 360/XBone games, using a Series X for the next gen games ;)
Using a 4TB external on Series X to back-up the next gen games I am not playing.

Translated:
You can play any previous gen games off any external (SSD or HD)
You can only play Next gen games off internal storage unless you buy the Xbox mem stick. You can also copy next gen games onto external for storage and copy them back to play.

I have a question regarding Xbox Gamepass. (Please note I don't game or possess a consol so not familiar with the environment.)
I have heard that if you purchase or download games the 1 month with Gamepass and don't subscribe to Gamepass the next month, that you have a week before all your games disappear or is deleted from your account. Whether you downloaded free games or purchased them. Sorry if my terminology is not correct.

games wont disappear as its on your HDD. you just wont be able to play them cos it requires game pass

I don't think that's how it works but I may be wrong.

While you are subscribed to Game Pass you can download and play any Game Pass games. When you stop subscribing the games stay installed but tells you that you need to purchase the games to play them.

Any games that you purchase before, during or after the Game Pass subscription stay yours forever and you can play them whenever. But games that are just downloaded and not purchased will not be playable when your subscription expires.

Thanks. This is also what I thought but obviously my lack of knowledge of the gaming world, I wasn't sure. I need to explain all of this to someone who knows even less but want to buy their kids an Xbox gaming console.
 
Also how do you pay for a monthly subscription. Do you purchase online every month or can you buy vouchers. Or can you buy multiple vouchers for a few months.
