Hi bought my box from Kloppers too. Everything worked except Netflix. The same tvq-pm-100 (5.2.5) error. My box arrived with Marshmallow (Android 6.0.1) and Netflix didnt work. I tried a variety of setups, resets, etc but could not get Netflix to work. DRM Info reported unprotected too. I then upgraded to Orea (Android 8.0.0) but that didnt solve anything. I made sure my Netflix app is up to date. Nothing wants to play on Netflix. Plays 10-15 seconds and it stops. I tried this on a variety of TVs (from old to new) as well as different HDMI cables. DRM Info continues to report HDCP unprotected.
Today I called Kloppers and besides a few general tips (all of which I tried) the only other thing they told me was that they got confirmation from the suppliers that Android 8.0.0 is "too new" for the Mi Box and that I should not upgrade. That seems a bit silly, especially since the box gives you the option and surely they tested it before releasing it. Whichever way my Netflix didnt work on Android 6.0.1 either so that's definitely not my issue. Reading up online some sources suggest faulty hardware.
I sent my box back to Kloppers. They told me they'll send me a replacement device. However before I made the phone call I mailed them and got a different response in that the device should go to their repair center, that they are aware of the issue and that they need to flash firmware on my existing device. So i'm unsure at this point whether I'll get a new device (which I'd prefer as I still think the hardware is faulty) or whether they are simply going to downgrade my device, in which case I know it wont work as I tried it on Android 6.0.1. Downgrading also seems risky. I've read many people have attempted to downgrade themselves and while they succeeded this lost their serial no and DRM info, rendering the box useless to Netflix and other services. If they do end up doing that I hope they know what they are doing as there is no official downgrade path from 8.0.0 to 6.0.1.
Xperia - Please let me now your experience with Kloppers and whether you succeed. Netflix was one of the primary reasons I bought this device and without that I'm not really seeing the point in having it as my previous "Google Cast only" worked fine. I just wanted a better TV experience without the need of a tablet to control what's playing on the TV.
